Quoting: spayder26It's very sad, for a lot of potential customers, that prohibitive EU custom fees would make really hard to buy anything from USA companies directly.
Just find your local or EU-wide brand of Clevo laptops (e.g. Schenker in DE) and you'll get the same hardware. No idea if Pop OS does anything special to these computers, but I have Arch running on Clevo P651 and everything works perfectly apart from the webcam (which in all honesty I never actually tried to make work, currently the system just doesn't see it, might be a question of adding some kernel modules), but including the touchpad (which historically has been my biggest issue with Linux on laptops).

[edit] Just to be clear, the laptop is far from perfect in categories like temperatures and fan noise, what I mean by "perfectly" is that everything "just works" on Linux without much meddling.

[edit2] https://www.tuxedocomputers.com/ [External Link] located in Germany seems to sell Clevos with Linux on board.

Valve's digital card game Artifact releases this month with same-day Linux support

They should include in the announcements: "Available Nov 28 for Linux and that two other systems we still support"

No Brakes Games have discontinued Linux support for Human: Fall Flat

> Anyone who purchased it solely for Linux support does have a right to be annoyed, but can they refund it? Not unless you're within two weeks and under two hours play time.

I think it's still worth a shot, Valve is sometimes flexible with refunds and dropping Linux is a valid reason. I'd try but I bought it from humble store. :-(

A look at some interesting games and bundles on sale for Linux gamers

I'm not entirely sure, but I think Hitman updates every time there's a new Elusive Target. The current one ends on Monday, so there might be an update then, or when the next one arrives - that might fix the corruption. Disabling Ep.1 Paris might help with dlc1.rpkg, but it probably won't to anything for chunk0.rpkg as it sounds like a major part of the game (but is it? I remember a huge download that added Japanese voiceover, that might as well be this file ;-). Still may be worth trying to disable all DLC and see if that makes the game at least launches.

Quoting: NumericEarlier this month, I took advantage of the humble-bundle sale on Hitman. 10 hours in, I hit an impassable bug with Steam/Hitman. I can't launch the game now because it infinitely states "(corrupt update files) steamapps\downloading\236870\Runtime\chunk0.rpkg" or "(corrupt update files) steamapps\downloading\236870\Runtime\dlc1.rpkg"

I have switched download regions, wiped the entire steamapps folder, deleted the app manifest, re-downloaded the whole 44 GB several times and even added a new steam library on a separate drive. Still the same error. Anyone else run into this? Not to much about it online, except for a few odd posts from other Linux users. Most have the same story. Works for many hours, then update loop. :(
Ouch. I played 264 hours of Hitman (on SteamOS) and never hit that bug. It crashed once or twice (literally!) but no other problems. Last time I played was yesterday. What distro do you have? It's weird that wiping and downloading again doesn't fix it, it usually works for other games. Have you tried to "verify game files"? Lastly, it might be worth reporting it to Valve, as it might be a corruption on one of their update servers (yes, I noted you switched regions, but who is to say that it really worked?).

Quoting: LeopardEagerly waiting for Steam Winter Sales. That would be a Proton focused sale season for me.
I'm willing to bet they plan to implement the SteamPlay icon for whitelisted games before the Winter Sale (or, who knows, maybe even before the Halloween Sale?), and I'll be sure to buy some of those to show that it makes a difference.

Aren't those coming to Linux pretty soon?

Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoI wonder the purpose of the Track prefix files [External Link] feature.

I guess Proton will have several versions of WINe and will run the more appropriate for each game...
Hopefully, because once a game works perfect for me with (for example) 3.7-3 I don't see a point in updating it risking breakage.

Quoting: j3kylI noticed that all my "Windows" games had a minor update of 300MB. Obviously unrelated to the game itself as most of those were released years ago! :D

I almost dropped a tear when I saw a update on Stalker SOC! haha
For me, only Codename Gordon got a 343M update, but it still doesn't work. :-(

Quoting: buenaventuraWow, yeah Kentucky Route Zero is worth every penny, it's a fantastic, amazing game! Buy it! I am a patron of Cardboard Computers (who make KRZ) and they are such awesome devs. Act V is on the way! (perhaps late 2018/early 2019).
Wait, so it's still not complete? I've been hovering my mouse over that game lately, good thing I haven't started it...
