How big is Linux gaming? Some estimates

But seriously, Valve could run an experimental "SteamOS-only sale", I'd like to see results of that.

Quoting: norsettoThe only way to entice gamers to linux would be if games were cheaper on that platform.Yeah, then every second Windows gamer would install Linux just to buy the game and maybe a few of them would play it on Linux while they're already logged in. :D

Of course there is market for no-bullshit paid apps on mobile. I used to like Angry Birds but I was constantly annoyed by the lack of ability to purchase an ad-free version, and I stopped playing it completely when they introduced first microtransactions. I'm under impression that free apps are specifically made for kids that constantly click ads with their grubby fingers, or even better, play on their parent's account and "buy gold" with real money to unlock this and that. In contrast, pay-once apps are legitimate software in the ocean of cash-grabing apps disguised as games.

It really is like he says. I check new releases every day, I have http://store.steampowered.com/search/#sort_by=Released_DESC&os=linux&page=1 [External Link] set as my default steam page - so the list is limited only to new *Linux* releases. If I see a nice new game at good price, I go ahead and buy it. If a game releases without a Linux version, I don't even know about it, and when it promises a Linux version sometime down the path, I just wishlist it and forget about it until there's a big sale and I check my wishlist - so I end up buying games that launched without Linux port much later and much cheaper. I wish Valve had a separate list for new Linux/SteamOS releases, because as it is now, it's very easy (even *default*) to have no idea about new ports.

Quoting: GuestI don't believe my eyes... A game that supports Linux but not OS X? Is this a first among commercial game releases to do this?Dying Light and Saints Row IV come to mind.

Hitman GO is a mobile port, but it's some start for sure.

I was really hyped on Xenonauts, hearing it's like the original UFO and stuff, but when it was finally released, I couldn't really get into it. I'm not saying it's bad, but it just didn't capture my attention for long enough. Instead I went back to playing UFO: Enemy Unknown in openxcom...

Quoting: GuestDidn't they do the same with Common Sense expansion for EU4?Quoting: Segata SanshiroLOL the patch has made the game pretty unplayable. Everyone in the kingdom hates me and without the DLC it seems there's no easy way to get them to like me. Gifts and honorary titles only give half the points as they used to...So Paradox gimps the game to force you to buy the DLCs, or is it an honest bug?

I've been waiting patiently for this. Best recipe for games published by companies with dlc diarrhoea: wait for a complete collection and buy it on the nearest sale. It's something different when devs release a complete product like Talos Principle or Dying Light, and then release a DLC that adds new quality and story - I don't mind buying the game right away and then the dlcs separately. But when someone turns dlcs into a business model and release a host of them on day one - my answer is to ignore the game until they release a complete package.

I am really excited for the expansion, though I was hoping for some new antagonist and in the video I'm seeing the old faces (Rais' men). Hopefully it will be something more than just a new map and the car.
