Updated text on Download page to clarify when player is downloading a patch vs an initial download

Wasn't there supposed to be some designation (in the desktop client's download page) for shader downloads? I still see Steam downloading a bunch of (presumably shader) updates on most restarts, with no indication of what it is. The Tomb Raider games have a PATCH NOTES link, but they point at Windows updates from last year, so not very useful.

Same here, initially I thought that its just because Steam adds new precached shaders very frequently, but considering that it is after every PC restart and that 2 updates ago or so a bug for the Steam Client was fixed that made steam load every update twice, I now start to think that this also might be a similar bug.🤔

I didnt even know that it had a Google Play version, yet that it was that popular.

An Official confirmation would still be better(or renewing the old one with a time frame/estimate).

Some games that run fine on Linux are marked as Unsupported on the SteamDeck, Planetside 2 for instance.
I wonder why, maybe some of the tests are already outdated, or the Tests where not done with the BattlEye Runtime:huh:

I really enjoy the Paradox strategy games a lot, really but Cities Skylines DLC politic is really to much. Every little feature needs a DLC and back than it felt empty and unfinished even with some of the major DLCs included :/

Although I might try it in the feature again, since Transport Fever is not quite the same kind of game.

I would sure would hope that if they compete on how long they can keep Linux on their main machine, something about that competition gets mentioned later on.

Why don't we encourage ppl or ourselves(those that still Dualboot) to participate in this challenge:
Switch to Linux(on your gaming machine) for at least 6Months or so.
There could even be a Hashtag or some kind of little trend, this could help promoting Linux and generate more momentum.
Maybe some of you guys have a nice Idea for a Hashtag?

No one should be forced to support Linux IMHO.

Your point makes no sense whatsoever. EAC automatically working in WINE without having to be activated wouldn't constitute official support of Linux any more than a game not having anti-cheat in the first place running in WINE without the devs being able or required to consent with it.
On the contrary, if an active step is required to allow a game to run in WINE, people WILL view that as "official support", even if the devs otherwise don't want to officially support WINE.

It could also be possible that they switched it to opt-in for now in case of unwanted side effects(IF hackers could exploit it or bugs occur they dont want to be the ones to be blamed for it).
If it turns out that there are no problems they could easily switch it to opt-in and even later remove the setting completely and just always activate it.
