Some games that run fine on Linux are marked as Unsupported on the SteamDeck, Planetside 2 for instance.
I wonder why, maybe some of the tests are already outdated, or the Tests where not done with the BattlEye Runtime:huh:

Cities: Skylines Airports DLC announced for release in January

I really enjoy the Paradox strategy games a lot, really but Cities Skylines DLC politic is really to much. Every little feature needs a DLC and back than it felt empty and unfinished even with some of the major DLCs included :/
Although I might try it in the feature again, since Transport Fever is not quite the same kind of game.

Not sure if you already mentioned it but Planetside 2 [External Link] seems to work with Proton Experimental and the Proton BattlEye Runtime installed!
For a third month in a row, Linux remains above 1% on the Steam Hardware Survey

Switch to Linux(on your gaming machine) for at least 6Months or so.
There could even be a Hashtag or some kind of little trend, this could help promoting Linux and generate more momentum.
Maybe some of you guys have a nice Idea for a Hashtag?
Edit: Tell your friends about it or Post about it in social Mdeia, and afterwards share your experience with it.

Quoting: AnzaThere has been constant rise for a while now, which in itself hasn't happened this long before. Which is good as rise starts from quite low point. Why don't we encourage ppl or ourselves(those that still Dualboot) to participate in this challenge:
There might be even more interest in Linux when Steam Deck actually comes out.
As for the publicity, I noticed this few days ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvosJN00d2w [External Link]
I would sure would hope that if they compete on how long they can keep Linux on their main machine, something about that competition gets mentioned later on.

Epic Games announce full Easy Anti-Cheat support for Linux including Wine & Proton
24 Sep 2021 at 6:25 pm UTC
If it turns out that there are no problems they could easily switch it to opt-in and even later remove the setting completely and just always activate it.
24 Sep 2021 at 6:25 pm UTC
Quoting: KimyrielleIt could also be possible that they switched it to opt-in for now in case of unwanted side effects(IF hackers could exploit it or bugs occur they dont want to be the ones to be blamed for it).Quoting: einherjarYour point makes no sense whatsoever. EAC automatically working in WINE without having to be activated wouldn't constitute official support of Linux any more than a game not having anti-cheat in the first place running in WINE without the devs being able or required to consent with it.Quoting: KimyrielleNot sure why they thought it would be a good idea to make developers perform a "few clicks" to enable other platform support. Developers quite frankly shouldn't have a say about what platforms people run their software on. Just enable it for all EAC games, with no way to turn it off. :SHm, freedom of choice - but not for game devs?
No one should be forced to support Linux IMHO.
On the contrary, if an active step is required to allow a game to run in WINE, people WILL view that as "official support", even if the devs otherwise don't want to officially support WINE.
If it turns out that there are no problems they could easily switch it to opt-in and even later remove the setting completely and just always activate it.
Linux continues to remain above 1% on the Steam Hardware Survey

Quoting: thoughtfulhippoActually had the survey pop-up for the first time on my daughter's account last night. That's only the third time I recall getting asked across 4 accounts and 7 years. This month I was also asked for the first time since I switched to Linux from Windows(like ~1-2 years ago) and probably the second time ever.
The survey is such a mystery!
The Valve Steam Deck, lots of excitement and plenty to think about for Linux gaming

Quoting: subI dont think so.Quoting: LamdarerOr they more or less expect the Windows flock to install Win 10/11 right away.Quoting: subI still don't see how they'll manage to get the whole Steam Windows catalog (or even close) working fine with Proton until Dec.I think either the PR Team of Valve was either a bit over confident or they are working on something promising in the background, maybe we will see BattleEye/Easy Anti-Cheat working on Linux for non proton games this year.
As good and impressive that tech is and has come -v ery often I'm facing issues when trying a Windows through SteamPlay. No matter if I choose experimental or stable. Will they whitelist games that are known to work? But that's not what they promise ...
Btw, I don't run an exotic configuration. It's a Ryzen+5700XT and alway up-to-date Arch installation.
