Reply button has disappeared from here for some reason and i can't remember how to point a quote out concerning a specific user but
People have the power but don't use it. Or understand it. Authority religion is everywhere in Europe now, sure.
What is your proposed alternative for amending the laws to protect customers?Would use demonstrations and right to demonstrate in front of the associated departments there in the UK. Or can you actually gather there anymore to public places in numbers legally to demonstrate?

You can always torrent the game you once bought or if there is a title you WOULD buy, but it's not "legally" available. It's common sense that if you pay for a game with your hard earned money, it's just yours.
These petitions are just too soft of an approach. It's just paper with names, even it had million names. The powers that be might take a glance at that paper and laugh while throwing it straight to trashcan.

This official Nvidia practicing their nonsense will be over soon enough; Valve and their partners are developing a free and open source unofficial driver for that bold company's products. We have NVK already making strides and its a great starting point.
This will be a thing: Nvidia's official closed source drivers not needed as the reverse engineering turns to forward engineering

Fedora doesn't ship patented media codecs by default as for example Ubuntu and Linux Mint do.
It is beyond any normally thinking user *why there are no couple of simple boxes to tick* during install to achieve this totally basic functionality to watch videos.
So basically a new comer "can't watch YouTube, Dlive and Twitch on Linux" OOTB if you happen to choose Fedora as a first distro.

Quoting: Fester_MuddVideo playback don't work! In any of the mainstream sites i tried. I recall this has been an issue with Fedora a long time :huh:Indeed. It's an absolute shitshow. It is mandatory to use terminal and somehow *know* commands and what else. You are expected to just *know* there is this thing called RPMFusion (that you have to manually enable, and from where to start with, also a mystery as not any website or link is given). The installer doesn't express any of this. You also need to install additional codecs.
If things like video playback doesn't work OOTB how could anyone recommend this to any new user ..

Really great that big joints such as Sega put their trust in Steam all the more. Valve stands with Linux gaming and Valve gets more pennies right.
Say, the neighborhoods emulation bully Nintendo (who loves to pick on especially the little harmless projects) would apparently never do Steam
