Wine development release v8.3 is out now
6 Mar 2023 at 10:54 am UTC

This is a good thing to celebrate. So I must go to a local booze shop and get a couple Wine bottles. After I've drank 'em it's a very good idea to call to local hospital and have my stomach flushed! A nice little day program! And hopefully there will be no hangover afterwards:smile: But wine is developing fast. Almost every week there's an update. Good work!keep it going!

Valve doesn't need much to make a Steam Deck 2 a huge success
2 Mar 2023 at 12:34 pm UTC

I say I need....er we need a steam deck powered by quantum processor! it would be a real powerhouse and then there would be no need to update Steamos or upgrade Steam Deck ever again. It would outlast the competitors and the mankind! And what is best - Valve could include AI with Steam deck 2 which would be really fun! Imagine: Your Steam Deck Could give few very useful advices how to add a couple of zeroes on to your bank account. Or how to blow up you secret moonshine kettle and your neighbour's house at the same time!. Or it could give also some advices how to get rid of your nagging girlfriend! So a bright future awaits us!:happy:Eh i got too excited again. Sorry.I'll buy the next version of Steam deck if the price is reasonable and the improvements are good enough!

Ubuntu flavours to drop Flatpak by default and stick to Snaps
23 Feb 2023 at 12:34 pm UTC

I have a terrible premonition about this. When I wake up tomorrow and open up the
TV there's Canonical's logo on the screen and I hear TV say:" This is not a drill. I repeat this is not a drill. All hail the new overlord of the world:Mark Shuttleworth,Canonical!! Oh man! Does that mean that an era of Microsoft is over tomorrow and everybody is using Linux?Maybe! But now about these news. I think that I won't install ubuntu for a while or its flavors. It's kind of unfair to favor Snap.Linux is freedom and in my opinion this is limiting it. But at least we can use Flatpak still on Ubuntu but it requires some tinkering ofc. But my interest in Ubuntu has dropped for now.

Linux kernel 6.2 is out now, here's a feature highlight
21 Feb 2023 at 5:06 am UTC

It was very lucky that Steven Jobs failed to recruit Linus to his service. It would have been a disaster for the Linux Kernel development cause if Linus had done that then the kernel would have gone down to sewers so to speak. Maybe not but we can be thankful that Linus turned down this offer. Without him this kind of rapid Linux development wouldn't have been possible!
Thank you Linus! You rock!

How you can celebrate newest proton release without it. Now I know. I must use more Wine to party with skeletons who are in my closet. It's party time!!!!! Anyway it's great to see proton to "grow up" so fast. Good job and keep it up!
