also found out this not just specifically for ai art as this ruling also targets any AI content including text. which i am kind of glad with it not being just ai art that is getting targeted by this ruling.

has anyone who has played the game gotten sound to work? as after switching java to 8(openjdk) to get the game to load i can't seem to get any sound. i am using pipewire in case that causes problems?

i am so excited for this to happen as i have been following the development for a year or two! i have want to play dwarf fortress after seeing YouTube videos for Kruggsmash, and listening to the story of Boatmurder, but could never wrap my mind around the controls and the disconnect with ASCII characters(i am very forgetful). this will be my own small Christmas present to myself when it finally finishes development. though i hope soon or later they make a modding API, so it is easier both to install and create mods.

with my 980ti i get about 30 - 50 fps on medium settings. though if you have a card that is pascal or lower expect lower performance as cyberpunk 2077, uses dx12 and vkd3d has problems because of hardware limitations

so from reading the article, with the version bump to 510, does that mean anyone who is using the 470 nvidia driver will no longer be able to use steam experimental and its derivatives(such as GE)?

well after installing the launcher and getting the game running i can say it seems to run gshade. using the gshade installer bash script it seems the gshade setting menu does appear in the menu and the shaders seem to be running correctly though i was not able to test ingame, though it uses the wine installed on the system which cause a popup asking for wine-mono to be installed to the prefix though i do not know if this will cause problems later.
here is the command to run with the script(replace USER with your username)

WINEPREFIX="/home/USER/.xlcore/wineprefix/" ./gshade_installer.sh dx11 "/home/USER/.xlcore/ffxiv/game/ffxiv_dx11.exe"
