Wow that story sounded like a GREAT setting for a game! Man, it even looks like we can play as a female hero too. No set decision on a beefcake. Lovely!

This MUST be purchased - after I get confirmed it's as good as it looks.

Quoting: Aryvandaar"ONE BILLION YEARS INTO THE FUTURE...", come on, really? The scope if a billion years is just crazy.
Oh come on, it's humor, man. What does it matter. It's not like the rest of the story had any kind of slight realism to it either.

I look forward to take a step one BILLION years ahead. :D

Shadow of War, a sequel to Shadow of Mordor announced, no word on Linux yet

Quoting: LeopardAt some point you will see people will prefer Ms store to Steam.
Amongst the Xbox console owners, true. But only those. And that will not change - Steam will never be able to offer a cross play to that segment anyway.

But yeah - it's of course a good thing for those with both a Steambox and a Windows PC.

Shadow Of Mordor came across to me as a patchwork with the custom skins that skipped to default skin in cutscenes. That was particularly stupid if you played with the female skin/model, like I did.

So I hope one can select gender as part of the main game (and not just a DLC skin) and stick to that gender throughout the game this time.

Personally I think it's madness from a indie company to make an online/competitive game only. As a game mode, sure go ahead, maybe even the main attraction, but make sure there are single player content there as well. Don't make your game totally dependent on others to succeed.

It can work, by all means, there are examples of that. But usually it doesn't and leaves a lot of disappointed purchasers. The critical minimum of active players for it to work is really quite high, because of timezones and the fact that nobody hangs online for long if there are no activity, making it hard to accumulate players for online matches.

Quoting: bubexelI will talk about my experience with vive on linux, its really fustrating.
Thanks alot for that report, Bubexel. I really hope others with the gear can keep me posted too - I'm very very eager to hear the progress on this work.

Personally I'm aiming for a purchase when the SteamVR package runs well on Linux (as it will eventually, that I am sure of) and when there are at least a handful interesting games to play.
But in my estimation that may already be this summer. Let's hope for a rainy cold summer season this year :)

But yeah, hope to hear from more Vive owners about their experience! Eventually in a DM if you don't want to spam the comments here.

Quoting: EndeavourAccuracyI've just played an hour of Serious Sam VR: TFE with my Vive on Linux. It's fun.
Ok wait up, back up, whoha! Vive is working on Linux NOW? How's the experience, technically? How is it compared to Vive on Windows?

The hardware requirements, are they the same for Linux too?

Are there other VR-games that runs on Linux too, to choose from on Steam?

Essentially what I ask is, can I go buy a Vive NOW and enjoy it in full on my Linux machine?

The MMO 'Albion Online' finally has a release date, new huge update in March

Quoting: michaYou can zoom in/out a little (changes distance and camera angle to some degree) but that's it. You cannot move the camera freely.
Even if you could, you wouldn't see any other players / mobs since the client only gets updates in a close proximity for anti-cheat and performance reasons.
Yeah a limit to moving camera *away* I can fully understand. I'm more interested in zooming IN and see your character from the side (and closer). It's a bit meaningless to stash your character with awesome gear and outfits without having the chance to check out the new bling. Also, to enjoy battle animations, close surroundings and the likes a bit better. Just get a better view than the distant birds view.

So it's not for overviews I want camera control - it's to see better what goes on close hand. :)

How free is the camera in this game?

Can you zoom closer to the character or is the camera locked on one distance? It's a bit unclear to me cause some game videos show your character close up, but gameplay videos seem to all be stuck at one specific distance with an isometric perspective.
