There's no Proton for Windows? There's no Wine for Windows? You can't run Steam Play on Windows at all?

Quoting: Purple Library GuyProton actually worked better on Windows than the native Windows version on Windows, due to Vulkan not triggering certain NVidia driver malfunctions.I still don't understand any of this ... Is this a meme I am not aware of? An internal joke?

Quoting: Guestisn't hitman one of those games that run better with proton even on windows? lolNot sure I get your point but Hitman runs perfectly via Proton, no issues at all. So it's not a poor performance or unstable release(?) as far as I have experienced.

So they should override with proton on this one. And I doubt they have...

Quoting: EikeHitman is natively on Linux:... And that's actually a problem. Hitman runs better on Proton, there is a sound issue with the native version. The sounds behind you are not audible. Not optimal for a stealth game. You only hear the ~180 degrees in front of you.

Katamari would definitely have been my first game on it. That's such a cute little game that is excellent for handheld.
The Katamari games were amongst my absolute favourite games on the PSP.

Quoting: whizseTry disabling Steam Input for the game.Oh! That's interesting. But I don't even think mine showed up in the Steam controllers list. But I'll look into it. Thanks!
I had a similar problem with a racing wheel and a specific game and this made it work.

Did you have to install some special software to get it to work or was it detected by the Steam client right away?

Quoting: CorbenI'm playing Elite: Dangerous with a Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X on Linux (at least I have played it a lot, not since the Odyssey update though), works ootb from within the game.I purchased a hotas a while ago to play with Elite Dangerous - but I never got it to work. Steam didn't detect it.

I find some of those whitelisted as downright *weird* that they've spent time on testing. Looks so ridiculously random. I really can not understand why they don't start with the currently most popular games on Steam, and proceed downwards on that list.
It would look SO much better towards those that's on the fence on this machine if some of their favourite games that they are gaming on nowadays are confirmed working on it.
And obviously, the more popular a game is the higher that chance will be.
EDIT: Or, if that's indeed what they HAVE done, then... Uhm... That doesn't bode well.

Quoting: slaapliedjeExclusive games never made much sense to me anyhow. Sure they made sense when the console itself made profit, but I'm betting for the price of the hardware in the PS5, that they are no longer making any profit on the hardware and only make profit on the games. They've always made their profit primarily via software sales (including licencing) and not the hardware (consoles). That's really why exclusivity to push hardware made sense - because then the customers also purchased the OTHER games on their platform (ergo revenue).

I've actually never felt Sony were much against Linux at all. Keep in mind that on their PS3 they even allowed Linux to be installed as "otherOS". It was only removed via patching when someone found a way to hack the PS3 OS and open for piracy via that feature.
