Hm. Ok then. Thanks for contributing with nuances to the picture. :)
I still do believe that Valve is a *major* drive to the current events, at least the rate as they occur.

Quoting: GuestCryengine wouldn't have this without Unity3D and UE4 giving them some incentive to do so.Would ue4 and Unity have done it without Valve/Steam? I have my doubts.

Quoting: pd12=) I think that's all the "major" engines (that aren't built just for 1 franchise/developer) now on Linux - CryEngine, Unity, UE, Source 2 ..Dice's frost engine is missing, but that's about it!

Isn't it a good idea to let this article replace the "Shadow Warrior 2 Announced, Seems to Be Getting a Linux port" as the top story now?

It just looks ridiculously good. I consider a pre-order just to mark my support for this kind of stuff: A real port and not a wrapper, day 1 release, AAA game.

Quoting: MGOidThe performance for me isn't good. I'm using the radeonsi driver in a R9 290There's your problem right there. I'm sorry, but the current state of affair is that ATI on Linux is a no-go. Sure, the Source engine may run well on it (apparently), but it should be widespread knowledge by now that ATI is not a valid alternative if one want gaming with a decent performance on Linux.
Unfortunately!

It looks fantastic but I believe it's built on Unity and if so that's a huge warning sign for me - almost a "no go".
So I'll have to read many reviews and user feedbacks based on the Linux version before I consider a purchase.
