Dying Light Patch Released, Look Ma No Blur

It's a little bit confusing when these articles are headlining so long afterwards, and over newer articles, cause one is lead to believe there is another patch out.

Dying Light Patch Released, Look Ma No Blur

Quoting: n30p1r4t3Running on steamOS here with the latest Nvidia Drivers and the game is actually really smooth. I haven't tried this game outside of steamOS so I cannot speak to that.

Also, this latest patch has reduced/almost elimated the frame dips I used to experience when a large amount of zombies were near.

Seriously?!

Hmmm I need to look into this. Is it now possible to set up a dual-boot with SteamOS?

Feral Interactive Are Teasing Another Linux Port

Quoting: leillo1975whale.... Dishonored, please
That's actually not a bad suggestion at all! Whales do play a role in the Dishonoured universe. And it's not ported to Mac yet either.

Man, I'd LOVE it to be Dishonoured! Yet another game I already own, but also yet another game I've barely started (Linux took over as gaming platform around the time I bought this game for Windows).

Aspyr's Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remaster Is Real And It's Out, We Have Keys For You [Key hunt is over]

Quoting: rick01457I try and steer clear of scary games because I can't handle them but probably my scariest moment in gaming was walking up to a mother and baby in the first Bioshock. It freaked me out enough to put the game down and leave it for a few weeks.

Haha - I know, right? Fun to see another one picking Bioshock. Man that game was creepy at times. :D

Aspyr's Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remaster Is Real And It's Out, We Have Keys For You [Key hunt is over]

I have to make a disclaimer here: I am ridiculously easily scared. So I'll here put down the scariest stuff I've managed to sit through. There's a ton of movies and games I've stopped seeing/playing during the initial phase. In fact, that's the rule.

So the scariest game I've played and completed - and I'm not kidding now - was the first Bioshock. I actually put that game aside for months cause of those very first minutes with those crazy screams in the corridors. I was thinking, "ok if it begins like THIS, what will this turn into?!"... And when I met the first Big Daddy? Oh man. I froze in my track.

GOL Cast: Fragging Bots And Testing New Maps In Xonotic
29 January 2015 at 8:43 am UTC

Great to see an article about Xonotic, cause this game is an excellent, classic arena shooter ala Unreal Tournament & co. I'd love to see more gamers in this game too. Come on folks what's to lose? It's FREE after all!

So I take this opportunity to tell Ubuntu gamers out there that there is a PPA that maintains packets of most of the bigger open-source games out there.

Add their PPA and install Xonotic now! Go here for instructions:

See you in the Xonotic arenas! :)

The Witcher 2 Has A New Beta For Linux, The Improvements Are Staggering

To be fair, Witcher 2 has been playable for a long time already. But this is *great* news nonetheless, I really like how VP are still working on their wrapper. May this mean we get a splendid working version of Witcher 3 from day one?

I now think there may be hope for that.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel New DLC ‘Lady Hammerlock The Baroness Pack’ Lands On Linux

BL2 is a better game, but now at least with this DLC there finally is a character I want to play. None of the characters with the game appealed to me.

Dying Light Is Now Confirmed For Linux, Bring It On Techland
25 January 2015 at 10:17 am UTC

Preordered. One can pre-download Linux binaries, so I'd say this is a worthy exception to the rule of not ordering before the Linux version is there and working.

Got very good hopes for this game, and dang, day one Linux release is worth supporting!

Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered pops up on Amazon, has a Tux on the cover
24 January 2015 at 6:10 pm UTC

Just some additional info that's worth noting: The game was first released in 2005 and fetched a metascore of ~85. If the "remaster" is extensive enough it might be worth it!
