Space Hulk Ascension Strategy Released For Linux

Are there any reviews out for this title yet? I don't find any listed on either gamerakings nor metacritic. The first game did not fare well with the critics, so I definitely want to read some serious reviews of this title before purchasing it.

(and before anyone ask: No, "user reviews" are not reviews, just like personal blogs are not and will never be serious news sources)

Kyle Pittman From Minor Key Games Talks About Low Linux Sales, And More

To be bluntly honest here: I don't mind if we miss out on a handful of these small indie games. I'm sorry, but it's a loss I can handle with very little pain. Just as long as it is profitable for the AAA productions, I am totally cool. That's what we need. The small indie games will always be there - heck there's even open-source free indie games out there that's pretty darn decent.

What surprises me with these kind of stories is that this even came as a surprise to the developers. I mean, how on Gods green earth could they expect more than 6% of sales to a platform that represent less than 2% of the total market on Steam? Just, how? Don't they do *any* kind of calculations during the planning stages?

Quoting: Garoghow do they count linux sales ?

[...] I don't switch to linux just to buy a game, but when i buy a game i check if its for linux or not.
i only buy games that are released for linux..
Rule of thumb, the platform you purchase and install it on is the platform that will count. There's some exceptions, like if you purchase on Windows but install and play it on Linux during the first month after install, it will count as a Linux sale I believe.

But just to be sure and to keep things simple, I'd say: Purchase, install and play the game on Linux to make sure it counts.

Those percentages seem to reflect the relative share of the platforms on Steam, so it's not really a big surprise either way. "non-windows" sales ended up at around 10%? Sounds legit.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: We really do totally depend on SteamOS to pave way for Linux to be a legitimate gaming platform. We just do.
It's reassuring that it is Valve behind it, but it's not comfortable to put all our eggs in one basket. But there you go. It's where we are.

As much as I've grown tired of the top-down perspective: This will be one exception.
It must be played.

... Not to mention it's got a metascore of 82% on gamerankings, that's very solid indeed.
Adding it to my wishlist right away!

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel's First DLC Now Out, And Linux Is Supported

I'm not even sure if any porting is required for the DLCs when the framework (the game) is properly ported.

It will be purchased the very SECOND it's available for Linux on Steam, and I don't care about the price tag. Smack in the pan. Can't wait!

It's a Unity game. So I'll most definitely wait for several Linux reviews before touching this one with a ten foot pole.
