They do come across as a bunch of amateurs. Something they, of course, in many respects are.

Quoting: SpeedsterI dare say he's not representative of Indie devs, any more than Linux gamers are represented by the jerks who like to harass Liam (they're way too noisy but in the vast minority, right???)You are of course right. But I do think we've heard a bit too much about unserious/dubious/irrational behaviour from the indie scene over the last year.
I've only heard of one other Indie company that basically self-destructed by its unbalanced owner stupidly alienating too many people; most devs manage to cope with stress better than this

What an idiot. If he's in any way representative for the indie scene, then I'm done with that part of the industry.
I'm happy I never bought this title.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Released For Linux With An Explosive Trailer!

They need to reinvent the wheel for the next Borderlands if they are to return to the 80+ ratings, I think.
As for me, I'm not tired of it yet. I think they did move forward with the sequel and right now I don't mind "more of the same" with the pre-sequel so I look forward to start playing it, especially since I've grown uniquely curious about the story prior to what we are served in BL2. Hopefully it will deliver on that account, there's a ton of hints and loose threads in BL2 for those who pay attention (as I do. I love following the stories in games).

Quoting: EKRboiI have been actively avoiding any reviews on it because I don't want to be swayed by them since I have not made up my own mind yet, but to those of you who have read some of them have they generally been positive?Generally positive although it's the Borderlands release with the lowest metarating so far (around 75), and being criticized for basically being "more of the same". I guess that sums it up broadly without spoiling anything.

I'll most definitely wait for the reviews. This just looks too ambitious for a small developer to handle. I've been burnt on ambitious RPGs from small devs before (Legends Of Aethereus, I am looking at you).

So expect at least 20 hours of gameplay if you go at a breakneck speed but considerably more if you do side quests and explore the environment fully.Haha - I am closing in on 40 hours in Borderlands 2 now, and I'm roughly half-way through the main story.

Quoting: EKRboiI'm an odd case running 3 monitors and gaming @ 5760x1080. In XFCE it launches and I can click the mouse to skip all the into vids but once I get to the menu it's just unresponsive to kb/m.Do you experience the same in other games too (especially games built on the Unreal engine)? Just for the sake of testing, could you install Gnome-shell and try it there? I got a feeling this is related to XFCE but it would be interesting to get confirmed.

Quoting: EKRboiIs there even an application based firewall for linux that work the way most windows firewalls work? Obviously you can block things via hosts or ip tables, but I am not aware of an app based firewall for linux. Can't you just do it on the router?

To be honest I am more worried about the exceptionally low Linux percentage.

To be honest I think these games belong to smartphones and tablets nowadays.
That said, I had the pleasure of revisiting Pirates on the PSP some years ago and while it most definitely is outdated in most ways it still has that little extra "something" that makes you just want to keep playing. It's a fantastic game.
