If I had only downloaded once per game, or a new one every full moon I'd not even mention it. But each time I start the client? And mostly for the same games?

Quoting: liamdaweIt's part of Steam feature for shaders to reduce stuttering in games for us.I know about the feature itself - but why does it download a handful of megs with shaders EACH TIME I log on? I mean, do they add new shaders all the time? Or change/update them?

Not directly related but speaking of the Steam client: Nowadays whenever I start the client it starts downloading shader pre-caching content for a lot of my games. Like, every single day. Mostly the same handful of titles too, amongst them *always* Fallout 4.
Do this happen to the rest of you too, and anyone know why?

Confessing my continued love of the Steam Controller, a few years after release

Great controller, it's my #1.
But it must be said, there's SOME games where the "traditional" controller works better. Much to my regret, but still, it's the truth. The touch pad and flat digital pad is not always a good replacement to a second real stick and a traditional digipad.
Like, Fallout 4 for example. We need that second analogue stick there.

Update FAudio to 19.06.oooh - may that fix the (very occasional) audio issue in Fallout 4? One way to find out... One very attractive way... :)

But it's very likely not up to Aspyr if they get the job or not.

Quoting: WorMzyAh, sorry, no it's not. I just assume it'll work on Steam Play if it's not ported. :)Quoting: BeamboomBut the game doesn't run out of date, that's the point I try to make here. We're still getting it.Is this confirmed? I haven't heard anyone say it's coming to Linux.
I have my fingers and toes crossed (makes it really difficult to do most things), but I'm not sure Aspyr are interested in porting completely new games to Linux.

But the game doesn't run out of date, that's the point I try to make here. We're still getting it. I mean, it's not like no other games are released in the meantime. There's plenty to play!
I just don't get this urge to INSTANTLY crave whatever is released, and that waiting some months somehow deteriorates the whole experience. A lot of games are first released on consoles with PC version a year or even two (GTA) later. For some that is a problem too. Calm down. Plenty of games.
Or how about TV series being launched at different dates in different regions. A lot are furious about that too. Like, chill the fuck down guys!
I mean, I can understand wanting to avoid spoilers or something, but really. Some are taking this way too serious. It's like a personal insult if they can't get <insert release here> the same SECOND as everyone else.
There's PLENTY of games. And this is just a spare time activity. Nobody's life are at stake here. You'll get'em. They will come.
And as long as they indeed will come, then all is good in my book.

Quoting: GuestNope, they sold out and are giving the finger to a huge amount of gamers on Steam. Not easily to be forgotten.Oh well, the most eager Windows gamers can just make an account at Epic. Many already have one.
And it is a whole eight months later. That's a total disservice to fans of this game. It's not just about Linux. It's about steam on windows and linux.

Oh shit you almost caused me a heartache now - I thought this was about Bloodlines 2!
So, zero gameplay footage, not even screenshots, this short before release? Pfffft, right. My crap-o-meter is peaking.

What's new? As Linux gamers we're USED To get things a few months later anyways :D I really don't care.
Let's just treat the Steam date as the official release date and get on with our lives. All is fine as long as the game is good. I'm ready!

]In any case, Borderlands 3 hits the Epic Games Store on September 13th and will later find its way to Steam in April of 2020.

Quoting: ArehandoroHaha - excellent point. But really, Nintendo exist in a dimension of their own. There's no other company on the face of this earth who can operate like Nintendo with their insanely strong IPs. No other console maker could launch an as dramatically underpowered console as the Wii and get away with it, or sell that much. and no other handheld gaming machine from any company other than Nintendo has survived the last decade.Quoting: BeamboomThe market for small dedicated handheld gaming devices. That market died right after the PSP.20 million of Nintendo Switch owners don't agree with that statement.
