Quoting: SeredI was about to ask what you meant with the "black screen bug", but since the last update my screen is just black if I start the game.
Most likely you're AMD proprietary drivers user. "--software-ui" switch would fix it.

You should also mentioned that it's OpenGL 4 only and considering it's depend at least on GL_ARB_tessellation_shader likely won't work with open source drivers.

Porting Civilization: Beyond Earth, Dev Update 6 From Aspyr Media (UPDATED)

Quoting: minjWas it Icculus that suggested releasing with broken support for OSS drivers?
This encourages the driver developers to fix the underlying issues.
It's was John Carmack, but for Windows AMD drivers. :D

PS: Blair from Aspyr answered me [External Link] about contacting OSS driver developers:
Quoting: BlairYes, we are talking with them now. Intel OTC has shown great interest in helping which is nice.

0 A.D. Progress Report, Programmers Needed

True. 0 A.D always was my favorite open source game from visual point of view.

Though let's say fair their project not just need "programmers", but need one high-skilled programmer who can spend few month full time on tweaking of simulation performance.

I just tried to play properly with last 3-4 releases and game always was pretty stable with some features missing, but it's still would be playable if performance will be better. Considering I have high-end Intel CPUs situation for everyone else likely a lot worse than what I seen...

Quoting: Segata SanshiroI keep thinking with 0AD and SuperTuxKart that they should put it on digital distribution platforms and charge money.
They already disscussed it here:

Basically they don't want to put unfinished game here.

Quoting: Hamish0 A.D. has got to be one of the only free software game projects in history where getting art is not a problem but getting coders is.
Let's say fair there is several other projects that reimplement exist games where programmers are really needed.

Recently I started to make tiny contributions to VCMI [External Link] because game is almost playable (most of things except proper AI is here), but there a lot things that can be fixed or implemented even with limited programming skill. If there any Heroes 3 fans want to join it's good time to do so. ;-)

OpenMW also permanently need programmers. Especially their launcher and lack of needed features and editor too.

Planetary Annihilation Adds Ranked Matchmaking

Quoting: EdmeneWill take a look in it, since the last time that I played multiplayer was still in early access and my internet speed was not so good.
Now PA have offline mode so you don't need internet access to play single-player.

Though multiplayer still require 2-4.5Mbps of downstream bandwidth because it's client-server game.

Quoting: oldrocker99Does the sound work now?
What do you mean?

I'm never heard there was any issues with sound in PA on any platform.
It's using FMOD so it's can work with any audio server without a problem.
