my Proton Experimental install broke shortly after first boot of GreedFall. I got to play it for the grand total of roughly 3 minutes. So that sucked.

The intro video of Greedfall still doesn't work, but the game proper launches just fine. That's with Proton Experimental. Every other version I've tried (including GE) just instantly crashes

Weirdness with NieR:Automata. I completed it as was with no mods and hugely enjoyed it. Reinstalled at least a week after the 'amazing new patch' had officially landed and it was.... exactly the same game. Exactly the same. Was profoundly disappointed. But also fine, cos it meant I had no reason to play it again.

Tried the demo and was massively disappointed to find it uses American voice acting.
Call me a massive pedant (go on, it's fine) but there's little to no excuse for not using the voice of an actual Scot in a game about the frickin Roman invasion of Scotland.

The utterly gratuitous use of 50/50 dice rolls really did not help much either. Failure states everywhere, often catastrophic, with whole sections needing entirely redone every time you botch it.

Not loving this.
Valve appear to be making no effort at all to distinguish Steamdeck from desktop Linux/Proton.
This is an absurd oversight that may actually hurt sales.
It would be a truly painful irony if the SteamDeck ends up relegating Linux from 2nd class to 3rd class citizens.
