Quoting: scaineZiggurat 2 [External Link]Holy wow. A legit Linux-native non-pixel art full 3D FPS? How the hell did I not know this game exists?

Just bought it. Art direction appears very similar to GRIS - one of my all-time faves - and that alone is worth a buy. The demo is just lovely and the devs have released three free dlcs. Can't really say no at this price

This is not a 'sit back and watch' zen game. You are hugely involved the entire time. And the balance is so well tuned that badly changing one piece of equipment can take you from nearly-immortal to completely buggered very rapidly... as I found to my dread when I ruined a perfect run by switching out a regen/evasion/defense ring for pure regen and almost immediately dying

Quoting: Purple Library GuyThere's something I'm not understanding. Apparently,You set up the game board, select equipment (which defines playstyle), and farm resources to build up your community, which in turn gives you more units to use on the board and other fun bonuses.
your character automatically walks around and engages in battle with various creatures. So like, what do you do?

Just picked this up, super-addictive and lots of fun. Also considerably deeper than expected.
I was massively put off by the whole 'card game' thing, but it doesn't feel like one at all (unlike Inscryption which very much is a card game and I found completely horrible).

can confirm Heroic is the best way to claim free games I'll probably never play. Totally worth it

I gave up on Prey close to the end. There was yet another bloody keycard to find. I hunted for literal hours. Eventually looked up a walkthrough and even with that I just could not find it.
I really wanted to love the game but it was just way too frustrating. Hope you have a better time with it

Quoting: FrawoI would recommend Prey, too. I'm halfway through the game, it runs flawlessly with Proton. Great story and gameplay!gah.

Quoting: CatKillerThis helps. A lot. Thank youQuoting: undeadbydawnI remain disproportionally irritated that discounts are given as '-n% off', which means a price increaseGood news: here it's a hyphen rather than a minus sign - it says "<game> - n% off" rather than "-n% off" - and on Steam it just says -n%. So you don't need to be annoyed.

Proton Experimental sees GreedFall, Eve Online and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl working

It could be I just got really weirdly unlucky and hit a one-time bug that had a REALLY OBVIOUS tell. Cos trust me, you would know if you hit the issue I did. It was pretty much impossible to miss unless you never ever look at your Steam downloads window. I'm basically assuming PE can't update in use cos that's the most logical conclusion atm

Quoting: Purple Library GuyIt's worth checking, for sure.Quoting: undeadbydawnOK. Got it working. It turns out Proton Experimental can't update while being used by a game.Hang on, what? That's potentially very useful information. I tried Proton with the one Windows game I own on Steam (Galactic Civilizations III) some time back and it didn't work, tried Experimental and it didn't work either (the launcher started . . . bloody launchers). Now that quite a bit of time has passed, I tried again, assuming Experimental would have seen a bunch of updating so things might be different. It was just the same . . . but does this mean I was actually just trying the same old version of Proton Experimental from back then? Argh.

Quoting: furaxhornyxOK. Got it working. It turns out Proton Experimental can't update while being used by a game. I've never seen this mentioned anywhere, ever. Resolved by switching GreedFall to another Proton, uninstalling PE, reinstalling and restarting Steam. Re-selected PE, which allowed GreedFall to launch perfectly, including the intro video & full menu.Quoting: undeadbydawnI tried again, and came to the same conclusion: now the game only starts using Proton Experimental, other versions failed.Quoting: undeadbydawn...Quoting: RTherenJust got the alert for GreedFall Gold on steam sale. Installing nowQuoting: undeadbydawnI must've been lucky then. I hope you get it running soon, because it's really REALLY good.Quoting: RTherenGreedfall is an absolute must play for any fans of action adventure games with RPG elements.I've thus far bought and refunded GF three times. Just outright could not get it to work (including with mf workarounds). Not even launch. This is the game I've been waiting for.
I played it without problems on Proton GE some time ago.
my Proton Experimental install broke shortly after first boot of GreedFall. I got to play it for the grand total of roughly 3 minutes. So that sucked.
I remember playing it a few month after it release, using the Media Foundation fix, without any issues though... I wonder if they changed something to the game since ?
I'm now mostly just pissed that it took me a full week to figure that out.
