Lutris now being built with Claude AI, developer decides to hide it after backlash

Quoting: tomascTo me, this feels like yet another case of certain people manufacturing drama.

We're not talking about a developer blindly using AI to generate code they don't understand and then pushing it out to users unchecked. This is a developer who knows what he is doing, uses AI as a tool to speed things up, and reviews the output. In that context, AI isn't replacing skill, it's supporting it.

As for the broader impact of AI on us as computer enthusiasts: yes, it's significant, and not all of it is positive. Hardware shortages and rising prices are definitely frustrating. But this isn't new. We've seen the same pattern before, whether it was laptops, crypto mining, or data centers driving up demand and prices. Every major tech wave creates temporary disruption before the industry adapts.

If someone's truly concerned about environmental impact or rising costs, there are straightforward ways to respond: stop wasting energy by playing PC games on demanding hardware, buy a energy efficient notebook second hand, and only use it for what you absolutely need.
The only thing AI is seed up are the Ram, SSD, HHD and Chip prices.NVIDIA has booked all available slots in contract manufacturing just to control the chip market. Just to push their AI garbage. Prices are exploding and hardware is being hidden. Try buying RAM, SSDs, or HDDs. But go ahead and defend their AI god. AI is the downfall. https://de.euronews.com/next/2026/02/28/studie-ki-chatbots-kriegssimulationen-atombombe [External Link] . But heil the AI 🤮

Quoting: wintermuteI recently stopped using regular Opera on EndeavourOS because video playback stopped working properly. Does the gaming version require the same codec workarounds?

Quoting: Antonio StorckeThis is getting ridiculous. The author knows his software. I fully support this author. As I side note, I fully support the use of Claude. It is the ONLY AI That I am able to trust with my code. The hts-time app.
You trust a war AI? A AI that delete all your work? I don't trust any AI. AI is the reason for the Ram crysis and you know that.

Quoting: ArehandoroI've never managed to get PSN to work, does that mean that once they enforce it we won't be able to play it on the Deck/linux?
Yes, without a PSN account you can't buy, play and download the game, if you life in a region without psn network access. You can't buy all new sony pc ports.

Quoting: XpanderIm mean they are not wrong. BattlEye might work as expected but their own solution maybe needs extra work and then there are updates on the future etc. Its still a new platform to maintain. Im sure if Deck gets popular and they see there's money to be made, they will change their mind.
Hmm, they did, didn´t?

Stadia? Is Stadia Linux or not?

Quoting: LightkeyDon't know if it's wise to mention this but Microsoft already said that they will keep supporting Windows 10 up till at least 2025, by which you would probably already have upgraded and there really is not a big advantage in switching to Windows 11 from what I've heard. It's like the switch from Linux 2 to 3 where unlike previous number increases, there was no technical reason, so I don't get the need to switch.
I take it back. Looks like there is actually a good reason [External Link] to upgrade to Windows 11.
Huh?

A real switch to Linux is better than Windows 11 and the Subsystem for Linux.

I think it has to do with Windows 11 and the Hardware support and now the News with the Anti Cheats Proton support.
