Paradox are now doing their own game client for downloads, cloud saves, statistics and so on

Quoting: IdleGandalfYou can use it but you don't must, like Oeigiun or Uplay. So where is your problem?Quoting: rudzhaYea that much is obvious. Just wondered why the article is so emphasized about the client's features, I don't see its advantage. The only possible usage scenario may be the situation where you don't have any other installed (e.g. steam) and only want to play paradox games. Seems rather far fetched.Quoting: IdleGandalfSo, why do we need such a client again? (cloud saves are possible with steam as well, if that's the selling point for this client)It's not for us, it's for them.

Quoting: PhlebiacHey thx :) Yes this is the better way for me too.Quoting: Vash63This is probably: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/5099 [External Link]Thanks for the link; the latest update there, about "pinning" libdbus, seems to work around it better than the other suggestions.
Just remove the config.vdf file and make sure not to save your password until that bug is closed.

Quoting: Vash63I have the same problem on opensuse Tumbleweed and remove the config.vdf file and make sure not to save your password don't works. I must delete the Steam folder and don't opt in the beta again.Quoting: linuxjacquesThe beta from yesterday does not start on my Fedora 25 system. This is probably: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/5099 [External Link]
Starting it from the command line shows a segfault and then uploading the crash dump to ... somewhere.
Not sure what's the best way to recover.
Just remove the config.vdf file and make sure not to save your password until that bug is closed.

Quoting: EgonautNo. The Serious Sam Complete Pack costs only 3,50 € and Serious Sam 3: BFE Gold Edition costs 4,53 €, so it make sense to buy the Serious Sam Complete Pack now.Quoting: lucifertdarkThat's not true. Nothing before Serious Sam HD will be added to Fusion. This means that only Serious Sam HD: The first and second encounter, Serious Sam 3 and Talos will be added.Quoting: GuestDoes it make sense to get Buy Serious Sam Complete Pack BUNDLE for Linux players or should we only get the few games listed for Fusion? This whole thing is a bit confusing.Yes it makes perfect sense to buy the bundle, everything is being added to Fusion over time, so eventually you'll be able to play the whole lot in Linux.
The engine of Serious Sam 2 is already too old to be ported with a reasonable amount of work. This of course apply to Serious Sam Classic.
Basically it's best to only buy the games which definitely get support.

Valve have changed how gifting games works

Quoting: g000h...Yes exactly.
2) If I buy a 4-pack game for £10. The single game is £4 (say). I then 'gift' and get the 3 gifted games rejected by the persons I gifted them to. Then that would mean I get £7.50 of Wallet Credit back in my account instead? Is "that" how it would work? ...
Quoting: Megazell...Yes.
I gifted a game that did not run properly on my cousin's computer - they were under the 2 hour mark and ask for the refund and I got the money back. Would this feature be the same in this new policy?

So in the new way, if you get the refund you get the money in your Steam wallet. If you pay via Paypal, you get the money in your Steam Wallet. The same if you pay via Credit Card. Why to hell i get the Money in my Steam Wallet?

Quoting: BeemerTBH - The refund shouldn't happen unless the gift is declined and the purchases opts not to keep it for later in their inventory. I can't tell you how many games I've bought on sale, saved them in inventory, then gifted them later for a birthday, christmas, or good report card. Also, by buying on sale, I can later gift several at a time instead of just one.^ This.
As long as this is implemented, I'll only be buying games for myself from now on. That means no more four-packs either to give out copies later.
Beemer
Another change, which actually seems rather pro-consumer, is that if the gift is declined, the person who purchased it gets a refund instead of it sneaking into their inventory. I think that's a fantastic option in case of unwanted gifts, no one loses out. I'm actually quite impressed they did that, it's one change I'm happy with since I get a bit trigger happy sending gifts during the holiday season. It brings purchases as gifts on Steam more in line with physical copies, being able to return it if it's not right.I want a rejected gift in my Inventory.
So in the new way, if you get the refund you get the money in your Steam wallet. If you pay via Paypal, you get the money in your Steam Wallet. The same if you pay via Credit Card. Why to hell i get the Money in my Steam Wallet?
