This game looks awesome. Definitely invokes nostalgia, but in a modern way. As in what we remember them to be, not what they actually looked like. As for Java, that is a good thing. Java is not hip or exciting, it is boring and reliable. But that is what you want when you have to manage a project of a reasonable size.

From my experience, 60 FPS is the lower limit for when the input lag starts getting annoying. I never had a top-end gaming machine, so I am quite used to playing at 30 FPS, and it generally does not bother me unless it goes down to 20. When this happens in native games, things become choppy, but input generally remains accurate. Whereas in eON games, when the FPS drop, it still looks smooth on screen, but feels laggy as if it was streaming. This variable lag really messes with my senses.

That and the fact that eON provides 1/2 of the native performance at best is not a good combination. But what annoys me the most is that VP keep doing action games where stuff like this is so noticeable.

I am not sure I like the game so much anymore. Way too much grinding for my taste. Simply finishing every mission once will not give you enough points to properly upgrade your characters, and you will very quickly be overwhelmed by enemies who have more health, armor, damage, and action points than your characters. So you have to repeat the missions for challenges like killing specific enemies in specific order, killing certain amount with a certain character, etc.

Oh, man... Both Witcher 2 and Bioshock Infinite are unplayable for me because of the input lag. It looks good and is smooth, but it feels like some sort of replay. I move a mouse, and it smoothly and accurately repeats my movements on screen, but after I have already finished the movement. I am not playing competitively, and do not care about milliseconds, but this here is ridiculous.

And why do they keep doing action games where this stuff is so important? Just makes me sad that publishers keep falling for this kind of stunt. Probably because it is cheaper than a native port.

My specs, just for fun: Intel Core i7-4702HQ CPU, NVIDIA Quadro K1100M GPU, 16GB RAM.

Me sad. :(

Playing this right now. I have completed about 1/3 of the game, and have not noticed any problems. Seems like a good quality port. The game itself is also not bad. The controls are well done. You can play with just a mouse, but it also has key bindings for most of the actions.

Hi, Kyrottimus. Very nice review. I was surprised about how your story is so similar to mine. It is really hard to find a good quality mouse that does not look like something out of transformers movie.

I ended up choosing Roccat Kone Pure. I am not using the additional functionality of the drivers all that much, but being able to quickly make the initial configuration via a program was actually quite convenient.
