Oh, does that mean it will make using Heroic launcher less painful when started from steam on the Deck? neat! (I installed it yesterday and it was kinda annoying to use...)Flávio from Heroic here. Yeah, this is something we know it's happening although none of our team could reproduce it. Let's hope it fixes it, but it seems something ont the SteamOS side. Also might be a case when using wine or old proton version. Proton 10 should work fine.

Quoting: SchattenspiegelGood catch, we should add an option to disable the attraction link and some info about that somewhere in the app for people that might get into this issue.Hmm, gog store does not show up anymore in heroic. Anyone else having problems?
Solved by removing adtraction.com from my hosts file

Since some people were asking us on Mastodon, we added more info to clarify the GOG Modify installation, DLCs, etc:
When we say Windows builds it means it is a Windows game but the feature also works on Linux and macOS.
So it is possible to manage DLCs, modify installation of Windows games on Linux and macOS.
It is not possible to change native Linux games though.

Although I don't see Lutris or any other launcher as a competitor to Heroic, after all, we all do that for free, is this 'competition' that makes Heroic and Lutris better on every release, it's a good thing overall.

Quoting: slaapliedjeBut I think in the case of these two, they seem to work just like the commercial environment where if you have no competition, you end up floundering around with little to no improvement (or you end up doing what Windows does and try to just slide in more ways to make money off of essentially the same crap).
Quoting: imLinguinI'd say it's not a competition. Both projects have different ideas and plans. While Lutris usually automates the process of installing and managing official launchers, Heroic tries to replace them with one app thanks to open source implementations (which are mostly based on many reverse engineering efforts). At least in my opinion, eventually Heroic could be the first piece of software to truly rule them all.In my opinion though, if we have only one software that. 'rules' them all or one single choice, eventually the people that work on it won't really care about improving it, they will become lazy.

Quoting: BlackBloodRumI read a few days ago that this one get bought out by Epic? Is this the first Epic release? Being Epic I'm surprised they didn't remove the GOG feature and integrate EOS :shock:Note to self: avoid such credible stories on April 1st from now on 😅

There was another important fix I forgot to put on the Changelog for GOG games that were stuck into an update loop. Some people have it some others doesn't but that should be proper fixed now.

But the problem with the HLTB on the game page was also that it was too much information there. That page is already too much cluttered on installed games. So adding more was complicated.
But we are designing a new game page for the future, probably heroic 3.0, that will make those informations easier to find and without cluttering the page.
And about performance, yes, I think we have improved a lot from 2.3 to 2.6 but there is still work to do and we have some refactoring going on to improve that.

Quoting: SchattenspiegelLove the Launcher, but why did they hide the HLTB info behind two additional clicks and put it into a dialog window?! - having that info directly available was one of the cool features of the previous versions and could only have been improved by displaying it for imported games as well. :sad:Yeah, it is complicated to make everyone happy. Hahaha
Otherwise all it's missing is maybe a little bit performance improvements, the option to only display installed titles and given the size of the libraries these days: 'auto-scroll'.
