If I need to interact with a Microsoft website I use Edge. If I need to interact with an Alphabet website I use Chrome. For everything else I use LibreWolf and it's great. The only worry I have is that Mozilla is going to fully tip over the deep end (even more than they already have gone) and I seem to recall the LibreWolf devs stating that they won't be able to maintain the entire stack by themselves.

shadowofward, if you really want _every_ ounce of performance I wouldn't recommend either GNOME or KDE, but you should use gamescope. That said, as a first timer that would require a ton of effort for relatively little payout, so I'd recommend you just use either GNOME or KDE and just ignore the half a percent overhead. I believe KDE lets you do some more tweaking than GNOME so if you're interested in messing about that's the way to go.

If this were reminiscent of a Nintendo property rather than Capcom they'd be sued already. Not saying Capcom isn't going to do anything, but at least it isn't a complete certainty.

Nintendo get another problematic patent in their fight against Palworld for summoning characters

Interestingly, the patent makes explicit mention of 'motion of throwing ball toward front/enemy character'. I wonder if that makes any difference as to which situations the patent is applicable to. Another point of note is that the sub-character will battle the enemy character when said enemy gets close to the player character even if the sub-character hasn't appeared on the field. A third note is that the sub-character can automatically engage enemies in a certain radius so if the player sends the sub-character into a group of enemies the sub-character will battle them one after another until either being victorious over all of them or until losing a battle. Considering Palworld launched in 2024 and this patent was filed in 2022, I wonder if it was filed as a reaction to whatever material was available in the Palworld announcement of 2021.

Some thoughts...
- Snaps: No thanks, I don't want to receive packages from a proprietary source.
- No Fcitx: Sorry, but there are more native Chinese speakers than native English speakers, having an IME is not an excessive luxury (and please, don't use Ibus, that garbage is horrible).
- Random CLI utilities like Duf, Mcfly: Frankly, quite pointless.
- Nano: Vim is already selected and is just better, no point in adding nano.
But most importantly: an immutable OS based on Arch? Absolutely lovely, if the KDE devs could just reach out to the Arkane Linux team to collaborate it could be an absolute game changer.

Some thoughts:
1. The proper way to do age verification is for the government of a nation to provide a service which other parties can use to verify that a person is old enough to access said content (so not 'is this person at least 18', but 'is this person old enough that they are allowed to access this type of content').
2. If they do Age Verification for sexuality-related content then it should also be done for violence-related content (I wouldn't consider teen pregnancies to be worse than school shootings, for example).
3. Protecting children is the job of the child's guardian(s), the government should only step in when the guardian(s) can't/won't do a decent job of it and in that case the solution is not to put some massive overreach in place but to transfer guardianship to someone who is actually capable of raising the child properly.
4. Trying to do AV only in specific regions is stupid because people can always bypass it using a VPN.

I get why using licensed tracks and cars is popular, but that just means the game will no longer be available for sale when the license runs out (think of Project Cars 2, for example).

Fans of the original may be disappointed there's no Fishmalk option, but I'm far more disappointed that we can't play as Nosferatu. While the 'can't get seen or you'll break Masquerade' system in the original was very underdeveloped, it was an interesting idea which I would've liked to see built out further.
