I'm curious Liam. How do you feel about the gameplay from the Infinity Engine games like Baldur's Gates or Icewind Dale?

And I seriously don't think you'll be into Torment it's extremely text heavy. Torment will have more reading and less voice acting than Pillars of Eternity.

Too often we have seen developers claim they will support Linux, only to leave us waiting as they didn't check before-hand. Let's hope Koji Igarashi doesn't let us down.

The game uses Unreal 4, which has native Linux support now. This scenario only happens when the developers use a custom engine (like Divinity) or an crappyEngine that doesn't support Linux (Banner Saga).,

I still hope it's true. IMO, KOTOR 2 has one of the best stories in an Western RPG. I would love to play through it again.

It has been sad to see all the hate and bashing here in GOL and linux_gaming reddit. Fortunately Linux players' tone in Larian forums has been much more positive.

Yeah, it's really great for companies like Larian if people are more positive.
Makes getting away with cheating way easier.

The new game is going to be shown at E3 this year, you need programmers to make the game...that means less people supporting Divinity (they aren't a big company), so...you can see where I am going.

How long will it be until people stop supporting developers who don't deliver? A year is a long time.

1. More people working on a project =! more efficiency. 2. Not all their programmers are working on the Linux port though. I'm pretty sure they guys who are working on the engine are different than the guys who are programming things like the gameplay system. I'm sure I don't t need to explain any more of this since I know you have programming experience.

I don't really see the problem. They said the Linux programming they're putting in their update will help their newer games come to linux. I rather the work on the whole Engine for linux support down the line instead of just releasing a shoddy Linux port as fast as possible

Companies like Larian are still new to Linux. Give them time, and go play other isometic RPGs liike Wasteland2 or Pillars of Eternity.
