EmulationStation Desktop Edition 2.0 is out now

Im trying out EmulationStation Desktop right now instead of vanilla retroarch, the one issue im having is that i can't directly exit a game back to ES ? The idea is to click the analogs down at the same time i believe but this does nothing. i can press the home key on my 8bitdopro2 and bring retroarch menu up though and then manually exit the game then retro arch.. seems clunky.

is there a way to bring up some sort of ES UI and exit directly back ? i did do some searching but didn't find anything other than the aforementioned analogue clicks.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyOf course it was that they prioritized their time and chose to work on other things. That's kind of by definition; they decided not to do it basically == they decided to do other things instead. Doesn't make them right.
You don't get to have a say in how other people spend their time. Just like I don't have a say in what you're doing with your time.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyGiven the fairly basic nature of this feature, the fact that many desired it, and that most other desktop environments both on Linux and other OSes had it, ignoring it was a stupid decision. Their priorities were misplaced.

Making Free Software projects above criticism does them no favours.
If I thought I had a say in how you spend your time I could've pointed out that *you* didn't prioritize adding an icon grid to the file chooser either. And since Free Software projects is just people I must conclude that no one is above criticism. Based on that I could have criticized *you* for not prioritizing the icon grid. Would that make sense to you?
Nobody is 'forcing' anybody to do anything with their time. Im not sure if this escaped you but this is a discussion forum, where people in particular tend to voice their opinions.

Whether you like them or not.

Quoting: WORMIt suggests that nothing has changed internally.
It does. And that the bottom line is still the most important thing, there are more Windows users. Sad.

Quoting: ArehandoroI don't understand why is it called CS 2 when in reality it is just the same game but with a modern engine/physics/graphics...
probably something along the lines of it sounds jazzy and is good for marketing.

What i like about Gnome is the speed of development is directly linked to the speed of the work i can get done on this environment. Meaning that if i was someone who really wanted to work quickly and efficiently then i could just add a lengthy list of extensions to make it work even faster than it already doesn't.

Quoting: DamonLinuxPLGuess, I need to stay with my current gpu and forged about this old one in my family home but again vulkan dota implementation is unplayable here on RX580.
am i reading this correctly that an RX580 is not fully Vulkan compliant or is this just a specific DOTA issue ? Isn't this just a driver update that could be easily patched, because afaik the RX580 is still a solid card for gaming even in 2023.

Please tell me that the Polaris generation is still supported under FOSS MESA drivers. This card has a relative performance of a current gen (at the time of writing) RX6500XT. If not, it kind of reduces the impact of the long term support idea of AMDGPU being FOSS, because my binary Blob Nvidia GTX760 from 2013 can play DOTA using Vulkan afaik..
maybe it's just one game now but that also implies that it's all source engine 2 games which would also be soon exclusively using vulkan too.

Quoting: DamonLinuxPLinterestingly, by installing Windows on it, we'll be able to continue playing on this GPU with DX11 and it's smooth. Once again, Linux people has been treated worse than Windows.
So can you run it in proton with DXVK then ? Thus emulating DX11.
