Dark fantasy shooter 'Apocryph' released recently with Linux support, it's messy

This was a mistake from the Developers.
They rushed to release the game because a lot of people wanted the game to be released NOW, GRAB MY MONEY etc!!.
Developers saw the demand and decided to release the game unfinished and in a high price for 3 levels in order to grab the money.

What developers actually should have done to gain trust and support from their clients

1. Release the game as EARLY ACCESS and state that ONLY 3 levels are currently completed and the game is still not optimized.
2. State that price will be 9.99 as Early Access - The price will change to 14.99 in a period of 3 months - and at the end after the game is finished the price will be 19.99

With this everyone should be happy, this will give you time to develop the game and gain trust from your clients and in addition you will have more sales.

Most of the developers thing that there game will become the game of the year or it will be like PUBG or Fortnite or Cuphead.
Is not easy but also is not impossible Apocryph had the potential to do this but at the moment they screw it up, hopefully they will learn from their mistakes and do their best to fix all the issues like Slain:Back from hell.

Basingstoke from Puppy Games is a tense mix of stealth and action, it's out now
28 April 2018 at 3:45 pm UTC

The word Basingstoke reminded me the month I have spend in Basingstoke UK for some sort of programming training/certificate but the only thing I remember from there is the delicious pheasants and the dull/rainy weather
I doubt that the game has anything to do with that Town...

Just some tips if you want to compile it on Linux

The easy way is to download the zip file and extract it from here

1) You have to use clang 3.5 otherwise it will not compile
2) You have to --> ln -s /usr/include/locale.h /usr/include/xlocale.h
otherwise it will not compile
3) ./
(it will give you a hint what prerequisites you will need to install so do what it tells you but be sure at the end to install clang 3.5)
4) ./
5) make

And after some time(10-15 mins depends on your cpu) you will have your binary at

GOG release a bunch of SNK NEO GEO classics, all with Linux support

I wonder why these are purchasable and not free... :o?
I dont see any new high textures or a remake of these games in HD.
There are so old games that should be for free for the the new generation to enjoy the old Arcade Games.

Well anyway you can easily grab a MAME Emulator for Linux and play them for free if you know where to get the ROMS.

As long as the AAA Companies dont release a Linux Version there is no chance for a Gamer to switch to Linux.
Gamers just follow newly AAA released games and the current gaming trend

PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS is the current gaming madness and no Linux version
and before a couple of days everyone wanted to play Total War: WARHAMMER II
On September was Pro Evolution 2018 and so on ...

So Why a Gamer would want to switch to Linux?
Really there is absolutely no reason to switch to Linux.

There's a brand new Humble Bundle with almost all the games on Linux, oh my
