Quoting: drmoth@wolfyrion which Steam runtime are you using? The Steam one or the native one? Might be worth trying both.

Is not working on both

What are you playing this weekend?

I am playing Cuphead and everything works fine even my PS4 controller is recognized.

I think the only problem I have is that proton uses a lot of CPU power.
For Example playing cuphead it uses all the cores at 95% of the AMD 1950x and the temperatures can get up to 70c (idle is around 45-50)

I have tried also playing The Wolf Among Us and it uses only one core at 95%

Quoting: CimerydI honestly thought this was dead for a while. I'm a backer, and after four years I'm mildly shocked this is being released. Really glad to see them living up to their promise and vision.

Nice I wonder if they wrote whatever I send them to a star :P
btw I am a backer too but didnt receive a key yet, did you get one?

Quoting: wolfyrionTo install it you simply type at your browser (at address bar) --> steam://install/440930
I think that it will work or you can go to --> https://steamdb.info/app/440930/ and press Install

That works but still doesn't invalidate my previous posts.

I'll take that back. It downloads but doesn't install, the content is locked.

if you verify integrity of game files it will force the game to unlock/download and install ALL the dlc you have purchased.

Quoting: Whitewolfe80Honestly and I know am going to get slated for it this is just one more nail in the coffin for me the lack of triple a gaming on linux this year aside from Tomb Raider reboot 2 means and i hate to say it i am going back to dual booting after six years on pure linux.
That's a bummer for you. For me, I'd go to PS4 before Windows and keep a Linux computer. Windows 10 is like renting a computer. It's not yours.

That said, my two cents in this seasonal conversation is that not everyone who gives Linux a shot sticks with it. I'm an IT professional who works on a team of admins that administer many Windows and Linux servers. We all despise Windows (supposedly), but guess how many of us run a Linux/GNU computer for personal use? Just me. It's too much work to not be mainstream.

Of course, I love Linux/GNU and don't imagine myself leaving any time (never say "never" ). But other people? They probably need to grow up with it, or there is like no hope.

@14 Hi, I am an IT as well :)

I am using Linux for work and other things as well but I dont think I will ever dualboot
I have a PS4 just to play AAA Titles (if I ever have time) that I cant play on Linux.
(Imagine that I have Resident Evil 7 , God of War,Monster Hunter,Shadow of the Colossus + so many other AAA tittles and I havent played anything so far)

I want to buy a VR but at the moment I am waiting for Linux support otherwise I may buy VR for PS4.

At the moment Linux Gaming is VERY VERY BAD !

1. No AAA titles are available in Linux (Especially the newest titles like PUBG etc)
2. NO VR Support and no cool VR Games in Linux
3. No gamer will want to play a game after 1 or 2 years if it will be ported.
4. Gamers jump from one game to another , I mean that gamers test every new game is getting released and if is trending they just stuck on it and play it until the next trending game tittle.

More than 5 years have passed and still Linux gaming is not a thing.
Yeah we do have many tittles especially indie games but until big companies decide to support Linux , Linux gaming will stay as is.

We Happy Few developer joins Microsoft, still coming to Linux plus new trailer

Microsoft announced at E3 today that they have acquired Forza Horizon developer PlayGround Games, State of Decay developer Undead Labs, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice developer Ninja Theory, and We Happy Few developer Compulsion Games.

They will also be founding a new studio in Santa Monica called The Initiative. The Initiative is a Santa Monica studio lead by Darrell Gallagher, who Xbox head Phil Spencer said is “a visionary storyteller” who has worked on “some of the most iconic franchises for over 20 years,” such as Tomb Raider.

Dark fantasy shooter 'Apocryph' released recently with Linux support, it's messy

This was a mistake from the Developers.
They rushed to release the game because a lot of people wanted the game to be released NOW, GRAB MY MONEY etc!!.
Developers saw the demand and decided to release the game unfinished and in a high price for 3 levels in order to grab the money.

What developers actually should have done to gain trust and support from their clients

1. Release the game as EARLY ACCESS and state that ONLY 3 levels are currently completed and the game is still not optimized.
2. State that price will be 9.99 as Early Access - The price will change to 14.99 in a period of 3 months - and at the end after the game is finished the price will be 19.99

With this everyone should be happy, this will give you time to develop the game and gain trust from your clients and in addition you will have more sales.

Most of the developers thing that there game will become the game of the year or it will be like PUBG or Fortnite or Cuphead.
Is not easy but also is not impossible Apocryph had the potential to do this but at the moment they screw it up, hopefully they will learn from their mistakes and do their best to fix all the issues like Slain:Back from hell.
