Well I dont play such boring games so I just did a test run.

I have a GTX 1080Ti , I am playing @ 2560 x 1440 with ultra settings.
At loading screens I am getting 1-9 FPS
In game I Am getting from 55-80 FPS
While playing a lot of graphic artifacts jump out of the soldiers, lets say that are textures jumping around my screen.
It takes a lot of time to load in a non SSD DISK.

I played for 10 mins and almost fall asleep , I really want to know what is the big deal of such games?
Is just your random group of soldiers fighting another random group of soldiers just clicking the attack button while arranging the positions of your troops.

Quoting: ElectricPrismThe journey of a thousand miles is broken up into each single step.

I am glad to see lots of small incremental fixes and improvements which will over time mean much bigger things.

Anyone remember when Valve started in 2013 and there were only a handful of games on Linux. Look at where we are now. 5k Games and 2.5k proton games.

Keep it up everyone, our combined contributions to enrich and grow the community and make Linux more awesome snowball. Keep asking devs for natives, keep buying Linux games and hardware, and keep patching, bug reporting and improving our software stack and drivers.

Gabe Newell wasn't kidding when he said the entire goal for Valve with Linux is to remove barriers and friction which slow down content delivery from developers to consumers. Valve has been doing exactly that. They have been an excellent steward enriching Linux.
But still upcoming AAA Games are not available in Linux.
This is the major problem.
Gamers want to play NEWLY just released games not a year later.

Valve have updated Steam Play with the 3.16-1 beta based on Wine 3.16 and new DXVK

Quoting: drmoth@wolfyrion which Steam runtime are you using? The Steam one or the native one? Might be worth trying both.
Is not working on both

What are you playing this weekend?

I am playing Cuphead and everything works fine even my PS4 controller is recognized.

I think the only problem I have is that proton uses a lot of CPU power.
For Example playing cuphead it uses all the cores at 95% of the AMD 1950x and the temperatures can get up to 70c (idle is around 45-50)

I have tried also playing The Wolf Among Us and it uses only one core at 95%

Quoting: wolfyrionTo install it you simply type at your browser (at address bar) --> steam://install/440930 [External Link]
I think that it will work or you can go to --> https://steamdb.info/app/440930/ [External Link] and press Install
That works but still doesn't invalidate my previous posts.
I'll take that back. It downloads but doesn't install, the content is locked.
if you verify integrity of game files it will force the game to unlock/download and install ALL the dlc you have purchased.
