Wish it was on steam as early access or something. I have no interest in signing up with kickstarter. I guess I will have to wait.

Development of games on linux is great because it shows other game developers that they can also free themselves from the shackles of their current os.

It really is a great game. Been playing it for ages. The devs keep polishing and implementing new features. They also respond to ideas from the community. It's definitely a labor of love.

Fantastic Game! Very relaxing. Will be picking up this dlc as soon as I can.
My only gripe with the game is they removed the streaming radio stations from the linux version. This is due to mp3 royalties. On windows they actually have windows media player play the music so they can avoid paying.
I have been trying to get them to do a similar thing on linux since right back in beta testing. My idea was for the game to check if mplayer was installed. Then if it is, use it to play mp3 and radio station playback. Or even alternatively allow streaming .ogg stations as they allow your own .ogg music on linux.
I have even showed them c++ code to remote control mplayer.

But so far no luck. Shame, listening to the real radio stations in the area your in really adds to the immersion. Also I hate seeing missing features in the linux version of games.
Here's an example of what I mean.
eg. When I first played it on windows to compare, I was driving down a freeway in britain and listening to liverpool rockfm I think it was. Anyhow they started talking about the freeway being jammed, and I started thinking if i needed to take a different route lol. Then I realized hey this aint real LMAO.

Killing Floor 2 Will Sadly Not See A Same-day Linux Release

Killing floor 2 does look awesome. I am looking forward to it.
But I am unsure why the first game is regarded so highly by many. I have barely played it as left4dead2 just seems sooo much better in pretty much every way. Is there something I am missing???

Really does remind me of sonic. I have no interest in the story, but damn that gameplay looks fantastic.

Thanks for the info. I agree with your thoughts on f2p, although I think it can be done right with a bit of thought.
The $10-15 sub for a year sound pretty reasonable. I hate monthly subs though, as it makes me either play it more than I really want too or I feel I have wasted my money.

My preference would be pay once. Now I understand it costs you too keep the servers alive over the years in the future.
But you could still have a vanity store or something. Think guildwars 2. That is probably the most impressive mmo when it comes to revenue model imho. Although they have a few things in the store I don't feel should be there like boosters.

I wish you the best of luck with your game, thank you for supporting linux.

So will it be f2p, pay once or subscription when finished?
