And since it's an MMO, if you buy it later, you just carry on wherever you left it.
It is a base building survival game and you can at most store 21 days of fuel in your base and have to pay taxes every 2 weeks or you lose your base shield and sandstorms will eat up your base. So if you do carry on later, you'll just have your character levels, any gear on you, and any gear stored in the bank. You won't be starting over completely but if you do leave for awhile it will be a pretty big set back.

Oh this is neat. I really hope someone adds in VR support. It really feels like it was designed to be a VR game before VR was a thing.

Quoting: KlaasOkay… So we have to hope that they get lots of negative feedback and bad sales so that they give up on the idea for future releases instead of abandoning PC as a platform…
I've been hoping this for launchers, extra accounts, DRM, microtransactions, etc. But unfortunately it seems like if they can push it long enough for a generation to have not known better, people will just start defending it because that's just how it normally is.

Quoting: PublicNuisanceWhat's the correct number for them to make ? How do you arrive at that number ? Who gets to decide ? I'm not trying to defend Take Two but at the same time trying to dictate how much people are allowed to make is a recipe for a different form of tyranny.
I mean the people who give themselves millions of dollars in bonuses certainly think they're allowed to decide how much people are allowed to make. I don't think you'll make too many working class friends for defending these people for capping peoples ability to make money for their own benefit though... And yes the standard model for a business under capitalism is indeed a tyranny with someone at the top calling all the shots to maintain their position of power and wealth.

Quoting: Mountain ManThe solution is simple: if a game is sold as a service, or as a code in box, and you don't want to support it with your money, then don't. There's no need for the government to get involved and make things worse, as governments notoriously do.
Quoting: Mountain ManAs is usual in these kinds of debates, idealism is often in direct conflict with reality.
Yeah totally crazy how some people put 100% faith in the free market magically resolving all issues on its own...

Quoting: poiuzWine devs call Wine an emulator. It does emulate Windows.
Wine (originally an acronym for "Wine Is Not an Emulator") is a compatibility layer capable of running Windows applications on several POSIX-compliant operating systems, such as Linux, macOS, & BSD. Instead of simulating internal Windows logic like a virtual machine or emulator, Wine translates Windows API calls into POSIX calls on-the-fly, eliminating the performance and memory penalties of other methods and allowing you to cleanly integrate Windows applications into your desktop.

Quoting: NezchanI'd try playing this, but I fear I don't have nearly enough brain.

Not especially good at optimization or efficiency either, so that's another strike against me.
The game is pretty easy to get into and pretty straightforward, with progress coming pretty naturally just expanding on what you need. It's not until you're hours in that you realize you've made a complete ad hoc unintelligible spaghetti mess that will only ever make sense to you.

Quoting: Mountain ManYou're thinking of Diablo Immortal, which is your typical exploitive "free to play" mobile game ("Do you guys not have phones?"). Diablo IV is a proper PC game. They're going to offer cosmetic items, but there's not going to be any "pay to win" nonsense.
Once more extreme lines are crossed the previous lines don't seem so bad by comparison, but even cosmetic items used to not be tolerated in proper PC games, that was also for those free to play games. I have no doubt they'll keep pushing the line of what is acceptable and go further.
