Quoting: FrawoYes, Steam Machines failed, but I'm still somewhat disappointed that a "pro consumer" company like CDPR/GOG needs financial incentives to do native Linux ports. I always thought they where striving for ideals, but now it looks like they are all about money these days. They didn't stop for financial reasons. They stopoed because people were insulting them after Witcher II wasn't good at Linux release. Which is totally what I expect from a human and humane company: Protect their people from such behaviours. To me, it was the darkest hour of Linux gaming: We're not all nice people, like I'd like to think.
Aren't you dissapointed in them, too? I've seen comments from you in their community wishlist.

Procession to Calvary wasn't only interestingly looking and funny (in the Monty Python way), but also a surprisingly decent point and click adventure! Wish listed.

Quoting: GuestMakes me wonder if the fast play data could also be used to pre cache data to ram for faster game loading in general since they both would need to know which data is used at what points during gameplay. I know nothing on the subject though...Absolutely:
...discarding of unused blocks of game data to free up local memory resources, and/or local prefetching of game data for reducing latency during gameplay.

Quoting: AciDSometimes Steam downloads 60+ updates the same day.On a screen like yours, they might even try to fit (parts of the) update news themselves on the screen...
I indeed want to see the update notes, since the "News" banner in the library is very, very limited (and algorithmically curated, which is wrong imho).
Displaying the downloads with the same tiled view than in the library would be better in my opinion.

Quoting: dibzWill, there's lots of unused space in the middle. Something tiled might help.Quoting: AciDI guess I'm curious what you actually want from them to fix that issue? Personally, I use a 4k screen -- but with an armchair in an HTPC setup, so I use scaling to be easier on the eyes. I have no use for tiny interface elements to begin with. I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest you probably run into similar white space issues with a lot of apps.Quoting: EikeI never had more than half a dozen games to download, and if I would, I wouldn't care to watch them downloading..Well, when you have lots of disk space, a 4k screen and lots of games, you can pretty easily get that kind of page :
What a waste :(

Quoting: AciDWhat a waste :(Ok, I see the waste of space. But what would you do with the 47 downloaded games? Are you looking through them for update notes? I guess it's not like you touched all of them in the last weeks and care too much? I'd "effacer tout" and all data I'm actually interested in fits fine on the screen.

If I (and LibreOffice) didn't miscalculate, 14th of Feb 2013 [External Link] minus 12th of Sep 2003 [External Link] is 3443 days, so the "break even" should be 20th of July in 2022. Which is incredible, as it feels like Steam is there forever, and while Steam for Linux doesn't feel brandnew anymore, I can still remember well how surprised I was when I first read about it.
