It's like asking which distribution is the best, just with two sides instead of a dozen. ;)
(My experiences with the Nvidia driver are very good. Can't say anything about the AMD side of things.)

Quoting: keanHow is the driver support? I am planning to upgrade my CPU and GPU (1600 and 1060) to a 3600/3600x and 5600XT. I had issues in the past with my RX 480, but never with the 1060. Would you recommend switching back to AMD?Opinions vary on this. :D

I agree Proton is a problem for native Linux gaming, but we shouldn't pretend it's the only one.

Quoting: antisolWell, for example, we got Papers, Please on Linux, but not Return Of Obra Dinn. I'd bet that proton is the reason why.... or too much hazzle and too few bucks.

Quoting: dannielloProbably it is my hardware issue, but GtkStressTesting is not showing my GPU temperature and fan speed. I cannot complain - I have nVidia GPU with their crappy proprietary driver:(I didn't look it up, but my guess would be it relies on something like lmsensors/sensors having been run once before. Did you do that?

Quoting: EhvisAs for the refunds, we now have proof that you can get them for these special cases, even if time is exceeded by a large margin.I guess the publisher wrote a mail to Valve to allow this. I wonder if Valve is keeping its 30% in this case.

I didn't even realise it was that beautifully seamless, I sat there like "OH! I can move!"—I felt a bit dumb and the game had barely even begun. You make this sound like feeling dumb is what you expect from a puzzle game - and the earlier, the better! ;)

As a game developer, I would want it safe first, for my reputation's sake.

Quoting: ShmerlMind that the players are not the customers of Unity...Quoting: GuestSo the safest default from a risk vs reward standpoint is probably still OpenGL. For now. That's not necessarily what the end user might want (possibly safest), if it costs performance. At the very least, actual game developers should then expose in the settings what API to use, and default to OpenGL if they think Vulkan is still more risky.

Quoting: buenaventuraI was a patron for a while of the devs and Im very happy with them, they focus on delivering something worthwile instead of stressing. I dont mind waiting!I understand this for say a year between episodes (and still would wait for the full release before I buy and start playing), but four years?!?

Quoting: scaineI played Act 1 all the way through in 2013 and was vagely surprised, at the end, to discover that it was a episodic release. Sadly, I never went back to it. I suppose episodic releases only really work if you can keep up momentum and stick to a schedule. There's no point in me buying Act 2 onwards now - I've long forgotten what Act I was about!Sounds like it would be worth it to start all over.

Quoting: Liam DaweBeing a little hyperbolic there aren't we? This isn't whining, this is Google being bad at communicating.Just with calling it early access or beta or something, people would have been way more happy I think...
