Shadow of the Tomb Raider Definitive Edition arrives on Linux on November 5th

Quoting: Sojiro84I guess my normal version of the game I bought and played on Windows before finally switching over, doesn't get a basic edition of the game that is Linux compatible?

Would be nice if it did, but no harm if it doesn't. But I won't buy the game twice though.
If guess it will. Let's see...

POSTAL 4: No Regerts released into Early Access, Linux version likely in future

Quoting: mphuZBetter add it to your wishlist...
Not better actually, since you only show up as a Linux wishlist if you manually go into the buried Steam platform preferences and only tick Linux. It's a nice idea but the execution of the feature needs improving.
Can't hurt to just do both.

Looking forward to buy Tomb Raider and Life is Strange 2 from Feral Store.

... and I'm looking forward to build my new PC in the next months. :)

SFB Games to bring Tangle Tower to Linux post-launch if there's enough demand

Quoting: yar4eDetective Grimoire is great game but at the same time it is very bad (are they test it at all?) port to Linux.. For me it's completely unplayable because of crackling sound and "unclickable" key places. Good news is it work great through Proton an i don't need to refund it because i wanted to support the talanted developers (but lazy testers:p).
It worked flawlessly on my system (Debian Mostly-Stretch at this time).

I had crackling sound recently in another game and could fix them by playing around with default-fragments and default-fragment-size-msec in /etc/pulse/daemon.conf . Obviously does not help with hotspots, though.

Quoting: dpanterNot sure we have a choice. In the end, it always comes down to cost. I remember dedicated Phys-X cards... does anyone else?
Absolutely. Well, theoretically, I've never actually seen one...

What have you been playing recently and what do you think about it?

I've been weak and have been using Proton for the first time, to play one of whitelisted games: The Room. I'm probably the last person interested in puzzle games to play this, but if I'm not (and you're inclined to using a whitelisted and platinum rated Proton game): Do it.

Now I'm back to the good side (native) and play the recently released point and click Guard Duty. I wouldn't rate it a great game, but I'm interested in what lies ahead in act II.

Quoting: GuestHoly crap! Vulkan works perfectly (on NVIDIA at least, will soon test with AMD) and I'm getting an over 40% FPS improvement!!!!

OpenGL:
vsync on: 40 FPS
vsync off: 50 FPS

Vulkan:
vsync on: 60 FPS (monitor max Hz)
vsync off: 85 FPS

Good job Fun Pumps! :D
For the records, that's 70% increase!
(You have to take the original number as reference for an increase, so it's 85/50(*fixed*) = 1.7 = 170% = 70% increase.)

Things are going downhill for the Atari VCS as Rob Wyatt quits

They explained that the pre-production Atari VCS units can run both Windows and Linux and that's about it right now.
So they've built a little PC that can run Windows and Linux?!? They're just wild and crazy...!

Seriously (and unfortunately):
It's dead.

It's all too obvious, but if you didn't do it yet,
don't let them talk you into preordering this box.

RIP, Atari. :(

I didn't actually own one of your great products decades ago,
but I still like your name and logo.

Quoting: ShmerlNice to see them ditching dead Adobe Air (that prevented Chuchel Linux release) and returning to Linux releases!
Nice to actually see anybody returning to Linux releases (instead of leaving it)!
And their art is quite special and nice!
