As for Linux support, it's going to be a platform for release. However, Linux support might not be released on the same day as the Windows version as it all depends on how much funding they get (stretch goals were mentioned) when the campaign is over and they're quite clear on that.I found this quite unclear, to be honest...:
Our aim is to release the game on Windows and, shortly after, on Switch, Xbox One, and PS4. There are plans for both Mac and Linux, plus mobile support for Android and iOS, but this is dependent on stretch goals and will take more time.

Quoting: subHm, thanks. Couldn't find this with Google or on Twitter directly, but I'm not sure I would if it exists. :)Quoting: Grim85When Stadia was announced I asked them [Feral] on Twitter if the footage of Shadow of the Tomb Raider was their work and they said it was nothttps://www.phoronix.com/forums/forum/phoronix/latest-phoronix-articles/1132685-shadow-of-the-tomb-raider-coming-to-linux-on-5-november?p=1132779#post1132779 [External Link]

Can you find this *somewhere*?

Quoting: subHmmm. Take it with a grain of salt but I read *somewhere* that this is not the case.I'd consider this very interesting (and surprising).
The Stadia version is not based on Feral's work.

They've got an update out and I wonder if it's fine on Linux now...?

But "the servers happen to be running on Linux" doesn't sound like what they are doing: It's not like only a multiplayer server running on Linux, like it is often the case. They have to port the games to run on Debian Linux and fully work there, on Vulkan, rendering the graphics, fast... to a streaming lib, not to a local monitor. In my humble opinion, that's way more than half of what it needs to publish the game for Linux to classic download. And it will make more developers learn how to do Linux games. And engines.

Quoting: DesumOh goodie. The ultimate DRM and censorship scheme. I'm so excited this is being warmly received because the servers happen to be running on Linux. It's not like I'm going to be a customer of this or want gaming in general to go in this direction. I'm more with Purple Library Guy here, wishing it "moderate success".

Quoting: Purple Library GuyI wish them moderate success. Enough to help make Vulkan more dominant and developing on Linux more mainstream. Not enough to cripple normal PC gaming and leave us with all our games are belong to fickle megacorp.Good points. :)

Quoting: GuestI wish they focused on porting better games. Sure, Tomb Raider is better than Total War by a long shot, but Mad Max was much better. I still haven’t started playing the previous Tomb Raider because the first one was ok but had a lot of annoying moments.I think Mad Max was the only big game I abandoned on Linux. It just felt so grindy and cumbersome at some point. ("Now you need to raise/lower the IDontCare level yet another time...")

Quoting: Jewgeni Filippowitsch IwanowskiI've also been waiting for it and will buy it as soon as it's available. As I don't have much time for playing anymore, I can also still satisfy my gaming needs with native ports (and whitelisted Proton games). For the same reason, I'm keeping my backlog of bought games small (half a dozen games or so). But the reason for writing...: How many games is "rather medium sized"? :-D
Maybe I'm too old to be needing the greatest and newest games. I appreciate what's already there and as I don't spend that much time gaming anymore I might never fully finish my (rather medium sized) backlog. That's okay for me as long as once in a while there are some gems like this one released to brighten up the day.

Quoting: Sojiro84I guess my normal version of the game I bought and played on Windows before finally switching over, doesn't get a basic edition of the game that is Linux compatible? If guess it will. Let's see...
Would be nice if it did, but no harm if it doesn't. But I won't buy the game twice though.

Quoting: Liam DaweCan't hurt to just do both.Quoting: mphuZBetter add it to your wishlist...Not better actually, since you only show up as a Linux wishlist if you manually go into the buried Steam platform preferences and only tick Linux. It's a nice idea but the execution of the feature needs improving.
