Just as a general remark, not going into the details you mentioned: Fights can be overdone. This makes neither the goal nor fighting for a justified goal a bad thing. Justice and social justice (which IMHO you're missinterpreting(*)) are great goals, and great goals to fight for.
Because leaving out marriage (and skin colour, gender, ...) generally obviously doesn't work.
Furthermore, some games can be seen as art, and telling artists to be apolitical is... let's stay with "unrealistic".
It also clashes heavily with Freedom of Speech.
(*) Wikipedia: "Social justice is a concept of fair and just relations between the individual and society."
Quoting: gabberPolitics should stay in politics and out of gaming, open source, etc. I don't want to know what the devs think about say gay marriage.... by only having a prince and a princess marrying, so leaving out parts of reality?

Quoting: gabberI vote with my wallet and virtue signalling of any kind will make me not vote for that dev.Your voting against this game has been equalized.

Let's have some flame war...
Why do people keep wishing for Skyrim?
It was released way before Steam on Linux, when most of us played on Windows,
and most people who wanted to play it have it through as many times as they wish - not?

Keep being sceptical whenever people throw dirt on terms like "social", "social justice" or at people fighting for social justice.

Quoting: gabberAs long as there are SJWs pushing their joy-killing agenda I'm afraid we need the Anti-SJWs.
Thanks for the heads up on the issue, not buying infected products.
Quoting: EikeAs long as there are people afraid of pronouns and colors...An Eike keeps them promises.
Well, I'll buy your copy, gabber. Full price.
I've just put in on my wish list so I won't forget on Linux release.
You're welcome.

"This includes any derivative of Wine (except Proton inside of Steam)."

Quoting: liamdaweAh, that was intentionally. Then I would reverse it:Quoting: EikeWell, then obviously (at least if I understand the question right) you would be a yes on both Wine and Steam Play.Quoting: liamdaweOkay, so the Wine question will remain as it is, but it will have a note below it which will read:...Proton inside and outside of Steam?
This includes any derivative of Wine (like Proton outside of Steam).Anyone have any problems with that?
You used it outside Steam - So yes to Wine.
You used it inside Steam, so yes to Steam Play.

Quoting: PatolaAlthough I am in love with Feral ports, and people have been repeatedly besmirching CivVI and Aspyr Media around due to their delays and turn to mobile, that's the one thing I really hoped Feral could learn from. If Civilization VI can fix their multiplayer support, why can't the Total War games?Well, different software yields differnt problems. Some might be solvable, some might not (without e.g. changing the Windows sources). We just can't tell...

Quoting: ImnotarobotWhy even allow anymore wrapped games to have Linux stamp with them? At least on Steam either do a native version or just leave it for Proton. Im not so technical so im not so sure about the wrapping thing, but i think it's like WINE or something like that?In the end, it's comparable to WINE, at least in the effect of running Windows binaries on Linux. They are tuning it for single games, though, and are giving support for them. And, perhaps most importantly, they've built their technology before Proton was a thing. I guess they've not been too happy about the news.

Quoting: KristianDo VP ever do native ports or do they just automatically, instinctly and uncrictically use their eON wrapperThey're always using eON, wrapping Windows binaries for Linux.
