There's a news section? I think my brain has, over many years, gotten almost too good at not noticing all the ads and various other crap that clutters all the pages I look at on the internet.

Not really that - people are generally going to get their games from Steam regardless of whether they're using Windows or Linux. The strategic aim of the Deck is as a Linux gaming demonstration device so that Valve's own customers aren't the handcuffs that tie Valve to Microsoft. The other handhelds coming with Linux out of the box is the best scenario, but Linux being easy (and desirable) for customers to put on themselves is a pretty good second choice.

I bought it, the Linux version is an AppImage and it works perfectly. Purchase goes through the Humble Store which is convenient.

The game itself feels very familiar, in a good way, same gameplay but there are some interesting new species of Goo. It feels more difficult than I remember the first one being but levels are skippable if you just want to push ahead.

I mean, I'm very positive and all, but actually that graph makes it kind of clear: We're talking about 1% in 2 1/2 years. At that rate, in 25 years we'll be at 12%. World domination in under 250 years!
That said, significantly faster than the Linux desktop share grew from ~2000 to 2022, so still seems like pretty good times!
