A zombie survival game? Talk about bringing new ideas to the table!

Unsung Story, a game previously funded by Kickstarter has started again under a new developer

I must say that Little Orbit has gained a lot of points from the existing backers by actually providing updates and having a professional attitude toward the whole mess, both of which were lacking from Playdek. They've had a good start in terms of transparency at least.

The fact that they're apparently tossing out a lot of the terrible ideas the original devs wasted considerable time and money on, like a multiplayer arena that nobody actually asked for.

Quoting: Crazy Penguin

Quoting: Crazy PenguinAs I said it is my server which is running 7d/24h on which I'm playing with MY FRIENDS!
We understood that and it's great, but while I don't know about you and your friends, many people have this real life going on and still would find it difficult to find time slots to play together. My best friends do shift-work and I've got two babies to take care of, and that's just two obvious examples.
We have a real life, shifts and family as well. We play if we have time, sometimes alone. Most important is that we can build and work together in one world! This is not an MMO where you need a group for some quests/instances/dungeons. This is not World of Warcraft :D
I'm in the same boat. I don't have a steady schedule, and just want to putter round exploring and building shit without either relying on someone else in order to enjoy the game. I rarely play multi games at all anyway, so while I recognize it would mean more sales (and less complaining) I wouldn't miss it in the least.

Hell, there are games I've taken off my wishlist because they abandoned a good single-player experience for multi. For the time being, this one stays on.

The environments and perspective look very Torchlight, which I like. This one's going on my wishlist, at least until I get a chance to see someone play for a while, maybe on a Friday stream sometime.

Serious recommendation, how about Thea: The Awakening?

They've got a Linux build in their beta branch on Steam, but aren't willing to go ahead because there's only one programmer so they don't have the resources to fix the remaining issues, including multiplayer. Here's what the dev said today:

There were a couple technical issues with non-windows platforms and having only one programmer on the team, we just didn't have the resources to spend on trying to figure out what is wrong. At this point it's hard to say if Thea 2 will release on Mac/Linux, we'll of course do what we can to include these platforms. We may possibly make it available for testing just as we did with T1.
Sounds like just the thing for Mr. Gordon's talents.

I'd love to see Spiderweb Software's catalogue (particularly the Avernum remasters and the Avadon series, but ideally the whole thing) ported to Linux. Humble ported Avadon 1, but the creator hasn't shown any interest in doing the rest.

Friday Livestream with Samsai at 5 PM UTC!

I just got this month's pay, so I'll probably get Goken pretty soon. Looks like the sort of thing I'd enjoy, but having a gameplay preview on stream would be nice.

Quoting: lucifertdarkI tried an early Windows demo of this & it was VERY VERY creepy, it's like Bioshock & Outlast got together for a quick night of passion & this game was the result, if it ever gets a Linux release I will happily take my daily dose of Joy. ;)
I guess we all know what to make Samsai play when the time comes!

So did they finally create a third difficulty level between "no threats at all" and "EVERYTHING IS TERRIBLE AND ON FIRE"?

What games do you want ported to Linux? Feral Interactive want to know again

Quoting: BladeforceStarcraft, DIablo 1 and 2, dungeon keeper 2. Nothing new interests me. it's all just eye candy
for Diablo look at Victor Vran & for Dungeon Keeper check out Dungeons 2 & War for the Overworld.
I wish there was more than just Victor Vran and Torchlight 2 for the Diablo-like experience. I find Victor himself way too cookie-cutter of a character to be stuck behind for a whole game, even though the mechanics can be fun.
