But yes, as AlveKatt said I meant it in the more general sense rather than anything specifically about Aryvandaar. I mean I don't even know them, they're probably a lovely person. It's more that it's a phrase I've heard a lot, usually in the context of putting people down for being "thin skinned" which I think is kind of awful.
More specifically for moderators though, whoever's doing the moderating should be prepared for a certain amount of heat directed at them. Moderators will always be seen as power-hungry/mad, unfair, biased, and any number of awful things by some users. They'll always have people complaining about them, so you have to be ready for that. But at the same time, you have to be sensitive to more than just the most "thick-skinned" members of your commenter base. It's a balancing act, but a worthwhile one.

Quoting: liamdaweIt's a dumb saying. Either way, I don't care if people think I am "thin skinned", I am who I am.You're squid-skinned.

Is "thick skin" really a great thing to have? Doesn't it just mean giving awful stuff a pass? I would imagine that's not a great trait for someone moderating, and trying to make the site welcoming for a broad range of people.

In my experience if you get too specific on rules, trolls just use them as monkey bars and you're stuck with an endless game of "not touching youuuuuu!" Clearly defined rules are good for things like "no selling products" and so forth, but there's a lot of stuff in personal interaction that aren't so easily codified. Plus, some people get very good at JAQing off [External Link] so you need some degree of flexibility.

As far as moderation goes, I wouldn't be the first to say that a healthy discussion requires some degree of curation. What Liam is putting in place seems to be the bare minimum, although it wouldn't surprise me at all if there were folks who consider it Going Too Far. But as the saying goes, "If you try to please everyone, somebody won't like it." So you just gotta draw your line where you draw it, and stick to that. Good on Liam for doing so.

"Season pass" on Kentucky Route Zero. It's been a year since Act IV came out, which itself took two years to make. Those are some looooong seasons!
The closest thing I can see to a status update is "Yeah it's coming!" on Twitter from March.

I've only played a bit of Victor Vran, and honestly so far I haven't really come across much that really requires him to be this particular dude. He's a bit of a cipher, you could swap him out for pretty much any gruff, detached character and have very much the same game. Is there something later on that contradicts that?

Quoting: XpanderYou sound upset. People have preferences. People like to play games with leads they can identify with. And yeah, there have been complaints by dudes about games that have female leads, even though there still aren't that many of them.Quoting: KimyrielleI skipped on Victor Vran because I am not too eager to play games that force me to play a male character, at least not unless premade female characters become just as normal.Sorry but what the hell? There are games where you need gender lock because of the story, Victor Vran is pretty much one of those. Ohh noo why do i have to play as female character in Tomb Raider? ...
thats just seriously stupid if you ask me. Why does the gender in games matter at all. If its designed this way its how you play it, if it has a choice to choose, then you choose what you want to play.
