Stealth game Shadwen from Frozenbyte to launch in May, Linux should be day-1

What does "welp" mean? I see it all the time these days, but can't understand the difference between welp and well. Is there one?
"Welp" at the beginning of a sentence like this has a bit more of a resigned tone to it. More like "We're in this situation now, might as well get on with it" than "well", which at least to me has a "time to get down to business" in a more proactive way.

As a stand-alone word, "welp" has a connotation of "there's nothing more to say", thus the "p" providing an abrupt stop to the more open-ended "well", which is typically a little more drawn out. This is the more common usage, far as I know.

Stealth game Shadwen from Frozenbyte to launch in May, Linux should be day-1

Having tried to play the demo and getting less than stellar results (the tutorial videos gave me a blank screen, so I wasn't able to learn what things did), plus what I saw of it on the livecast a while back, this is definitely not a day-one purchase for me. I won't be surprised if it requires several patches following the launch.

Thoughts on Retro-Pixel Castles after some major updates, a godlike village simulator on Linux

I really should give this another go. It's been quite a while since the last time I played it, and at that time there wasn't much alternative in difficulty between "puttering around" and "constant stream of zombies and things". Hopefully they've balanced things at least a little.

Edit: I took another quick look, and unfortunately you've still got a choice of no/minimal monsters and ALL THE MONSTERS. Wish they'd just add a "normal" mode in between.

The Witness may one day see a Linux port, for fun or for ideological purposes

Save me from devs who release a port months or years later, when their game is old hat and everyone who wants it has already bought it, and then whines "Linux sales are bad, I'll never make a port again!"

Y'all suck at business, dissolve your company.

I've watched gameplay of The Witness, and while I like the exploration of all the cool areas, the puzzles are just the sort of thing that would frustrate me immensely, and the rest seems like an Automatic Pretentiousness Generator. Random quotes from Einstein or James Burke or for all I know Deepak Chopra doesn't add depth, y'know. If that's my primary reward for solving frustrating maze puzzles, I'll pass on a port, thanks.

I have it, the problem is the Graphics card:

"ATI Radeon HD4850 -OR- GeForce GTX 295 (Does not support Intel Integrated Graphics Cards)"

Anyone knows a Linux typing game usable on Intel Integrated?
You could alway play ZType [External Link], if you're into shooters.

I've had my fill of clerical and data entry work over the years, so I'd normally not even glance at this, but gaming to JoCo tunes? That's actually kind of appealing

Banished Linux port is pretty much complete, OpenGL performing well

I was given this for Xmas back in 2014, and I've been dying to play it ever since. I tried to install it with Wine, but the Steam version would run at a decent speed for about three minutes before slowing down and locking up, so I finally gave up. It'll be a real treat to finally get to play it.

Steam client stable build updated, lots of Steam Controller improvements

Ah, so that explains why Steam suddenly started trying to sell me Windows games on the front page.
