Stainless Games announce another Carmageddon game, Linux & Mac gamers not happy
23 Feb 2016 at 2:00 pm UTC

This is giving me strong Divinity: Original Sin flashbacks. Promised Linux during kickstarter, dragged their feet, gave excuses when they could be bothered to respond on the subject at all, suddenly decided to do console ports instead, started funding sequel before Linux for the original game ever appears. Very similar track between these two games.

Hit indie game Undertale looks like it's coming to Linux & SteamOS

I've been so looking forward to this. It's pretty much impossible to avoid spoilers for this game, but I've been trying my best to make it a fresh experience. I haven't even listened to the soundtrack, and people say that's one of the best parts!

Bit of trivia, apparently this was mostly created in Andrew "Homestuck" Hussie's basement.

Albion Online update Brutus sounds like it will be rather good

More PvE is a good thing. Lore would be good too, hope they put more of that in once the mechanics are solid.

GOL Asks: What have you been playing recently?

Civ V and Dungeons of Dredmor mostly, but I did play through Whispering Willows and I took Knights of Pen & Paper 2 for a test drive. All good stuff, well worth playing.

Hyper Light Drifter planning for a same-day Linux release

Nice! I pre-ordered this ages ago (during the Last Life kickstarter wrap party), and he was saying it would definitely be for Linux from the start. That was before his heart condition slowed down development of course.

So I'm not surprised to see he's still committed to a multi-platform approach. 100% looking forward to release.

Albion Online closed beta extended, no longer going free to play after

My enthusiasm for this game has been eroding since I learned that questing and lore aren't really big parts of the game, and this just speeds the process along. I'll probably be skipping this one.

Quoting: Mountain Man
I know everyone doesn't celebrate the same occasions and holidays and what-not, so I will simply say Happy Holidays and wish you all the very best.
Screw political correctness and just say, "Merry Christmas." Anybody who doesn't like it can shove off.
This is the last place I expected to see that nonsense....

(psst..."Happy Holidays" traditionally meant Xmas plus New Year's and (American) Thanksgiving, and goes back further than at least the 1860s - learn your history)

And all the best to you too, Boss! Same to all the staff and the fine commenters, and the regular chatters on the Friday livestreams as well!

Hatred, the controversial shooter now has a Linux beta

Wouldn't it be hilarious if, thanks to this beta, the Linux version ended up as less buggy than the Windows one?

black and white look with some colors like police sirens and fire are nice touch though.
From everything I've seen of the game, that's the one thing they really did right.

Can we please not brand this game as controversial? I don't think we should be sending the developers the hint that we're (in any way related) to feminists.
Why shouldn't we call it controversial? Being controversial is the whole point of the game and all its marketing. If it wasn't controversial, nobody would have bought it to start with. As it is, an awful lot of the sales were driven by a desire to "stick it to the SJW's", most of whom had already basically shrugged their shoulders and walked away once it released and turned out to be a hot mess. The suckers still buy it though, thinking it'll piss somebody off.

Seriously, why would someone release this game at all if they were scared of being called "controversial"?

Never Alone (Kisima Ingitchuna), an atmospheric puzzle platformer looks like it's coming to Linux

I've been wanting to play this for SO LONG! I never thought they'd actually do a port, and I'm so happy to see it coming.
