Steam Next Fest - February 2025 is live with tons of demos

FIND ALL 6: Netherlands (Native) - Whaddaya want? It's a Hidden Object game. Just what it says on the tin, except on a canal.

Sizebound (Native) - Portal without the portals but plus size-changing blocks. Basically put block on button in various ways. Boxes have very frustrating physics, if occasionally funny, and game is set to stomach-churningly low FoV with no setting to change it. MAJOR negative points there. Also tutorial screens have text that starts when you're too far away to read them, but won't pause or restart. So you better move toward them quick.

Lored (Native) - Clicker/Idle game with animated stick figures, which I suppose is nicer than just watching numbers. Does a poor job at indicating what you're supposed to do right at the start, but it gets more straightforward. There's dialogue you can have with the stick figures, which is....competently written by RPG standards. Not really taken with it tbh.

Vespia: Shield of Aberration (Native) - Deckbuilder Tower Defense with a somewhat puzzling interface and pixel art that's chunky in a way that it's hard to really see what's going on. I think there's a good game in there mechanically, but the feel is off. Also very loud by default.

Taming Yore Dragon (Native) - Doesn't download an executable.

Fight off pesky humans and raise spider babies in Isle Goblin, a blend of Stardew Valley and Terraria

I can see the "Terraria" part really easy, but other than being isometric I have trouble seeing the "Stardew" part. Which isn't a *huge* sell for me since I failed after many attempts to vibe with Terraria.

Might like this better though, so hopefully there will be a demo soonish, as mentioned in the second video.

Yeah, I tried the demo and all your villagers do die. Pretty easily, in fact, since the margins on food are pretty tight.

Didn't get terribly far before uninstalling, but enough to get the gist of things. There's potential, but it just feels like there's something not quite there to have fun with it.

So....a lot like Shatter (2010) but harder on the eyes?

Good thing I've been putting off a full playthrough, now I can get the benefit of all the improvements.

The trailer seems solely multiplayer focused, so as someone who pretty much exclusively plays singleplayer, I have to ask whether that's fun, or a slog the way a lot of multi balanced games are?

Wild to see the Playdate still plugging away with 1% of the dev numbers.

If it runs better than NMS, I'm in. For some unknown reason I have to shut down Firefox when I play, or at some point my system will lock up.

I do hope that the planets are a bit more distinct than NMS though.

Roll the dice to make crazy combos instead of collecting cards in the roguelike Die in the Dungeon

Happened across an early version of this on Itch a couple of years ago, and it was pretty solid then, although very simple. Kind of disappointing they seem to have no plans at this point to put the full version there, although they did make the free prologue available so who knows.

The demo was great though, interested to see how the full game ends up.

I just started a new run of this the other day (hermit rules: can only enter other people's houses or go to town once per month) and I managed to get a glimpse of

! I also found the
