Ugh, I'm not sure I can resist the temptation to finally get Borderlands 2, especially when the GOTY edition is less than CDN$10 and I've got a buck or two that I made selling cards sitting on my account. Probably mostly play it single-player, but looking around I gather it's not too bad in that mode when you've got all that DLC to run around in.

Overwhelmingly popular too. 2-D Minecraft-style game but lots more depth and content (items, crafting, etc) than Minecraft. I have bought it.

I find Terraria to be a lot more fun if you're playing it with people who are used to it than doing it on your own. So if you've got friends who are into it, the game can be all kinds of goofy fun. Dunno if it's really so good at being a single-player experience though.

Mostly just looking at a couple Stellaris DLC this year, but I admit Streets of Rogue is tempting. Either that or the base game for Cities Skylines, but that goes on sale about 15 times a year anyway, so it's hardly a rush.

I'm a non-technical person myself for the most part, and one thing I appreciate about the more mainstream distros like Ubuntu is that for most problems all you need to do is a quick internet search and copy-paste the first solution you find. It takes a lot of the stress out of minor fixes and tweaks, and ties in with the earlier comments about how Linux users as a rule are good at bug reporting.

A lot of the distros have ways to set up the desktop in a similar way to Windows (MATE's "Redmond" layout, for instance) which makes the adoption process easier as well. People like having a familiar setup, and if they get adventurous later on it's pretty easy to change.

As to rebooting though, I do find I have to reboot way more than I'd like to. Sometimes that's for updates, but more often for lockups and weird interactions between things like Discord and other programs, or maybe pulseaudio being a butt again and disabling the mute feature or whatever. Part of that is likely because I have an older machine, but not entirely. The fortunate part is that Linux generally starts up really fast, so it's really not that much of a hardship, but it's something that does happen and we have to remember that it's troubling to new users.

I'm sure it's a great game for folks into that stuff, and a lot of people are excited over it. But I was honestly hoping it'd be something a bit different from the same series they've been putting out for ages. I'd love to see them do a game like Hellblade or Dark Souls Remastered or something else that broadens the Linux canon. But alas.

Have you opened the campaign menu? Fusion chooses the theme of the latest game you have for the menu, so if you have SS3, then it'll always boot with SS3 theme. But in the campaign menu you should see all campaigns that you have access for.

I had the same problem. For a new player it's incredibly non-intuitive, and nothing in the initial menus makes it clear you have to go two levels down in order to choose which game you're playing.

For all the trouble they went to making all those cool and surprisingly exhaustive menus, they seriously dropped the ball there.
