Tony hawk is Activision and Microsoft, no thanks.
I was actually kind of hopeful for this one. Well, guess I'm not playing any non-indie skating games for a while.

Before adwaita, yes things were better. But no design language and how adwaita works just does not port to qt and no real efforts to make stuff cross DE for adwaita apps have been very successful (that I'm aware of).

Looks great but as KDE user, gnome adwaita UI just mismatches so much and doesn't layout in ways that make sense to me. I don't expect the devs to drop everything and add KDE/Qt into the app as that's completely unreasonable. For now, I'll continue using protonup on my deck and desktop until something like protonplus comes around that fits my desktop environment.

Looks like their updating their arma middle east assets to DayZ and I'm sure eventually to Arma 4. It's amazing how you can trace the lineage of some buildings, props etc back to Arma 2 (middle east assets mostly) and how Arma 2 contained a bunch of ported OFP assets which also have been getting ported forward either by bohemia into their newer games or by projects like CUP which bring many arma 2 assets into arma 3 with some amount of updating.

Ya know, I can just spin up a dedicated server for many different games free of charge without even having to pay for the game on my own home server setup. In the past in order to have a dedicated server for many games you downloaded the specific dedicated server executable and ran it against a configuration file. Dedicated servers as a monetized feature are a truly terrible concept and the fact that we let Minecraft get away with it has given many developers the idea that they can just do basically the same thing.
I understand that this game is an MMO but truly, it doesn't matter. This is another incremental step towards the destruction of players ability to play the games they bought years down the line when the company that is currently making this game could end up out of business days after release and no one would have any real recourse to get their money back or continue playing the game they paid for.

As far as I'm aware they definitely wanted to work on the game in other ways but because WoTC has a VTT they are trying to sell people they're making sure that BG3 doesn't have a built-in DM mode, limiting what content it has in terms of things that could compete with their VTT etc. Fun times.

It's brilliant idea but I really think that they should know better than to assume their standard userbase would accept and use a product like this. Hopefully they find another interested area of the market for this one because it is certainly not their current customer base.

Wow, has it really been that long. It's hard to believe honestly. I guess this means I've been working on decky for two and a half years... It's hard to put into words both my appreciation for valve spending so much time on Linux to shape it into something that almost anyone can setup and play 99% of the steam library flawlessly. I am also very conflicted because this allows valve to lock down and create an entire new market segment for them to dominate. I hope that the work done on wine and proton can be utilized to make running any windows (or even Mac) software on Linux a more possible thing, not just games.
Decky Loader for Steam Deck gets a store upgrade to show currently installed plugins clearly

... is there a plugin to set default audio volume per output? For example, at every boot or wake up jack output at 50℅ but speakers at 10℅.There is Volume Mixer but I do not believe it has the capability to control default volume levels for applications and Bluetooth devices. There's definitely room for it to be expanded upon if a new maintainer wanted to adopt the plugin.
