EDIT: I just tried "Steam Deck" and that worked without the autocorrection by google. Odd but it'll have to do.

Quoting: MasterSleortNot long ago, Google and YouTube would think you meant "Stream Deck" when you searched for "Steam Deck", now I can imagine it being the opposite. At least Google does not suggest "Stream Deck" to me anymore. For a lot of people it still auto-corrects. Myself included. And I've been eating up Steamdeck related content so it seems like Valve should really reach out to google or something at this point.

Quoting: gradyvuckovic"Waiting for Steamdeck" has fried our collective brains hasn't it.Quoting: Purple Library GuyPlease keep the typo in the spoiler. I love the idea of a "websire" even though I have no idea what it would be.He briskly tip toed down the dank hollows of the corridor, with humming servers passing his ears as his eyes scanned the room dimly light by the flashing lights of CPU and DISK READ status lights flashing red and green glow along the decrepit ceiling, lighting up cables laced through vent grills like overgrown vines reclaiming the subterranean floor of the building.
"Hello?", the suited man called out as he adjusted his tie, while approaching the cloaked figure sitting before a collection of differently shaped monitors, scrolling waves of outputs through different terminal windows. The lights of the screens, casting a long shadow from a dark figure sitting before them, that crawled across the floor covered in cables towards the suited man tilting his head to the side as he tried to get a better look at the typing figure with his face buried in the screens.
"Websire.. I.. I have what you asked for..", he stammered as he approached the side of the typing man. The hooded figure turned in his chair, slowly, a squeak meekly whimpering from the ancient 20th century chair below him as he held out his hand.
" - are they, comma, seperated?", his voice hissed.
"Yes.. as you asked, CSV is formatted correctly, I made sure of it... Can you update the site by this afternoon?", the man said as he dropped the USB drive into the basement dweller's hand then stormed off.
"Also turn on some lights damn it, it's dark down here.", the boss said as he flipped the light switch while walking out to light up the messy room, drawing a screeching hiss from the web developer.

Quoting: Liam DaweI can mount them and add them to do software installs on them as well? Sweet!Quoting: CyborgZetaSD Cards have a standard ext4 format, you can do whatever you want with them.Quoting: Purple Library GuyI'm not a Windows user. My concern is that SteamOS formats the microSD card to its immutable filesystem and I become unable to drag-and-drop files from my PC onto the card.Quoting: CyborgZetaIt's not like no files can be added or changed. I mean, you can download games, flatpaks etc., and presumably there are save game files and so on.Quoting: Liam DaweThat's really strange, but I guess it's because of the immutable filesystem. Since SteamOS would have to format microSD cards, I imagine you can't just put files on your card either.Quoting: CyborgZetaCan't you just connect the Deck to a PC using USB and transfer files that way?Tried that, no dice.
Does SteamOS have to format the SD cards? Well, if you were a Windows user I guess for practical purposes because SteamOS wants them to be ext4, and I doubt Windows will format something to ext4. Presumably you could plug in an SD card, have SteamOS format it, then put it in your other computer and add things . . . can Windows work with ext4 if it's already there? You'd think, since Linux is so big in the server space and Windows still does server stuff, but I don't know. If you're a Linux user you'd be fine though, right?
Also, if SteamOS formats the card into ext4, would it even have write permissions for another user (in this case, my PC)?

Quoting: CatKillerFor those for whom this is useful information, some of these titles have already been through the Deck verification testing process. Celeste, Cloudpunk, and Scarlet Nexus all got the Verified status. Gears 5 got Unsupported. Can Gears singleplayer be played offline? Curious for those who are interested, I'm just an observer when it comes to gears.

Quoting: SalvatosCommonly known as the Osborne effect. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osborne_effect [External Link]Quoting: pseudexI'm pretty sure if there is a deck V2 it will be backward compatible with the first one.Compatible with what exactly? As Liam pointed out, the software itself is already independent from the hardware and runs on virtually any PC.
Surprisingly they sold more top tier decks then they thought. So far valve still earns my trust in buying the most expensive one. Unbelievable how open they are with it and the partnership with ifixit is unbelievable good news.
That's what I would call a sustainable product!
