Quoting: toojaysI can't figure out where the download link for Gone Home is. When I click on the "Gone Home" picture on the Trove page it just pops up the trailer video. What am I missing?

Wishlisted on Steam. The premise is perfect for a comedy adventure, and the art is just beautiful.

Charlotte, you might want to update the Kickstarter link at the top of the itch.io page. It still leads to the old KS campaign.

interactive story-based adventure game
I'm always baffled when developers find it necessary to point out that their game is interactive. Would it be a game if it wasn't?

But enough nitpicking. I'm always up for another adventure (game). It's already on my Steam wishlist, but I might get it on Itch instead.

The Top 10 Most Spoken Languages in the World.
Mandarin Chinese (1.1 billion speakers)
English (983 million speakers)
Hindustani (544 million speakers)
Spanish (527 million speakers)
Lol, hindustani has not that much speakers, there is lots of languages in India and most of them just use english.

They probably meant Hindi, which is the most widely spoken language in India by a wide margin. English is a distant second in total number of speakers, but only a measly 0.02% of the population speak it as their first language. Source [External Link].
This is the best source i know: https://www.ethnologue.com/statistics/size [External Link]
I'd say the official 2011 Census of India is hard to beat when it comes to sources. Gabber messed up the name of the language, but his number seems to check out, barring any drastic changes in the last eight years since that census was conducted. (Your site uses the census data as well, but they only count first language speakers, which probably explains the lower number.)

Quoting: GuestWadjet Eye never really supported Linux, their ports were unplayable.
Blame the engine. Poor old AGS simply isn't very portable. Although unplayable is a bit harsh. The ones I have from GOG work just fine.

I just skimmed the trailer, but I'm getting a definite Thimbleweed Park vibe. Which is not a bad thing at all.

Quoting: tuubiBought it.
Note that if you're in the EU at least, $2 is the price without VAT. (...)
I paid 2.48€ in the end. Of course that's still really cheap if the game is up your alley. I believe I'm going to enjoy Flux Caves, although I've got so much on my plate that I doubt I'll play it until it's properly finished.
Am I know this isn't a solution, but as I write on the itch.io site: Everyone who buy the game on itch.io, will get a steam key after the steam release, around May-June. Hope it makes this litle uncomforted feeling better :)
I actually like Itch.io despite this minor issue and of course I'm not blaming you. I do appreciate getting a steam key as well though. :)

Bought it.

Note that if you're in the EU at least, $2 is the price without VAT. Due to the way Itch.io and some other smaller stores deal with the whole EU VAT MOSS process, there doesn't seem to be a way to see the final price until a couple of steps into the checkout process. I'd be so much happier if I could just set my country in the preferences and see prices with tax in Itch.io listings and game pages.

Quoting: scaineIn 6 years of using Steam, I've only had one game fail to launch (Little Racers Street). It was incredibly common on Desura - in fact it was a key reason I never really used that platform. I'll be gutted if this becomes a theme on Itch.
Itch does not check the quality of releases on the platform (nor does it have the resources to do so). It kind of makes sense, as they want the platform to be open to more than just games or software. It's an open sales and publication platform for indies (as in independent artists, not just self-published games) and hobbyists and game jams et cetera as much as it is a game store. Of course this has drawbacks if you want to put it on the same line as some competing services.

My opinion is that we need Itch. It fills a niche Steam or GOG never could. It's likely that you'll always find some broken or abandoned stuff on Itch, but I don't see how that could be solved without essentially downgrading the service in the process.
