Should be harmless fun. On my endless wishlist it goes.

The Linux & SteamOS port of Killing Floor 2 has been put on hold, it needs a developer

Quoting: 0aTTThe elderly will never switch to Linux/SteamOS. No matter whether such a shooter appears for it or not.
My elderly relatives were the easiest to convert. Of course they wouldn't install Linux themselves, but they don't care about the computer beyond beyond the basics. As long as they can write emails, play a simple solitaire game or two, maybe write something with a word processor, they're happy. Their lack of interest in gaming makes things easier.

It's the kids who are generally the most resistant. They want to use whatever their friends use and a single game can keep them on Windows. They're too young to worry about security and privacy.

I know this doesn't apply to all elderly people everywhere, just my experience. Sorry if I offended any nerdy gamer grannies or grandpas.

Steam's Autumn sale to begin soon, date also leaked for the Winter sale

Tons of good games on my wishlist so I'll have plenty to choose from. I'll probably have to skip the autumn sale, but I'm hoping to bag Rocket League and/or Mad Max around Christmas. SHENZHEN I/O looks awesome as well.

Nvidia 375.20 stable driver released, increases OpenGL shader cache size and more
20 Nov 2016 at 5:30 pm UTC

Don't know if related, but in Saints Row IV characters started glitching out after about 40 mins of gameplay after upgrading to this driver, and not in a way they're supposed to. (You know what I mean if you've played it.) I think I'll go back to the 370 series for now.

Alien: Isolation – The Collection is currently rather cheap on the official Feral store

Quoting: dfrnHow scary is the game? I really don't like scary stuff. Especially Jump scares (which is basically the lamest way to scare people in media).
Scaredy-cats unite! I've only played a few hours so far, but mostly it's about the butt clenching tension of survival than actual brown-pants scares. It's a sci-fi thriller like the Alien movies more than outright horror. There's a constant sense of peril as you explore the space station. The game's stressful enough to keep me playing in short stints, and difficult and frustrating but the atmosphere is spot on and the experience is good.

Quoting: Kimyrielle"Anti Linux"? I know that (like most larger publishers) they don't care about Linux and said so, but I have never hear them openly hating on it?
This is the Internet where everything is black and white. Indifference isn't love so obviously it's a sign of hatred. As a wise man once said: "If you're not with us, you're against us."

X-Plane 11 system requirements revealed, needs plenty of RAM

Quoting: SeegrasBut maybe it's time to upgrade, in contrast to probably most of you, I only have i5-3570K at 3.4GHz.
For what it's worth, latest Steam Hardware survey stats do not support that. The majority of Linux users seem to have slower processors than yours.

Aspyr Media shut down their GameAgent store, focusing more on developing and publishing directly

Quoting: ElectricPrismAm I to understand that they're providing the same service just simplified & under their own name now?
No, seems like they're closing the store and won't directly sell their ports anymore.

Gunmetal Arcadia Zero, a slick retro action platformer is now out for Linux on Steam
16 Nov 2016 at 9:45 am UTC

I guess I'll have to give it a go some day, despite my dislike of the whole NES experience. At least some of the distortion shaders can be disabled. As a platformer this should be pretty good.

The game just oozes personality. I love it. Thanks for the review, Flesk.
