I think you are entirely missing the point of this exercise. Feel free to ignore if you're not interested.

This War Of Mine Finally Fixed For Linux, Includes Other Fixes & Workshop Support

Quoting: linuxgamerDon't know why they all demand 14.04 LTS or 15.04, my intuition tells me they should run in 12.04 LTS eg. if the OpenGl driver is new enough.
They don't officially support earlier releases for the same reason they don't list all the other distributions the game works with. Would take a ton of testing and make them responsible for maintaining that compatibility. The latest LTS is usually fine as a target for Ubuntu. I'd assume gamers are not exactly the most likely bunch to use older or outdated OS releases anyway.

Trine 3: The Artifacts Of Power Linux Beta Released

Quoting: fraghopperAnybody know?
I guess Liam's wording was a bit ambiguous. People have been unhappy about the game's length, as it's quite short. The developer has said they had to cut down on content due to budget issues.

Dinosaur Hunt: Africa Contract Is Hilariously Terrible

Quoting: maodzedunI guarantee you there are enough people who will be entertained with how hilariously bad this game is :))).
True, but what's new is that jokes like this used to be freeware. I can't believe people are actually willing to pay for this stuff. Although I admit this isn't much of a problem.

Quoting: rudeboyskunkI'll be honest. I did this when the Linux client came out. I clicked yes for every Greenlight game that had Linux support and no for every game that didn't just to get more Linux games on Steam. Was it for better or worse? I don't know; but I don't regret doing it.
Having unfinished drivel like this available for Linux does not "further our cause" in any way. Unless you think Linux's success as a gaming platform can be measured by the number of games available on Steam.

Personally I think basically abandoning quality control on Steam is one of Valve's worst blunders thus far. Although how exactly should they fairly judge games for eligibility? Don't know. Don't actually care that much. I do know you can't buy joke games like this on GOG.

The Journey Down On Kickstarter, Funding Final Chapter Of Point-And-Click Trilogy

I really hope this awesome series gets the ending it deserves. The first two games are wonderfully atmospheric and imaginative, with gameplay easily up there with the classics of the point-and-click adventure genre. I won't kickstart the game but I will definitely buy it.

Crookz - The Big Heist Review
30 Sep 2015 at 3:48 pm UTC

Quoting: MayeulCIIt reminds me a bit of Monaco, but with better graphisms :)
Really hope it's nothing like Monaco. Such a disappointment. Like an enhanced Pac-Man with a story. When I bought it I thought it'd be something resembling good old The Sting! but I guess that's what I get for not doing the research.

Happily Crookz seems much more interesting.

Alien: Isolation Delayed For Linux

@raonlinux: They have cited problems like missing textures, graphical glitches, instability and poor performance on AMD hardware for their ports. I won't take part in the debate on who's to blame, but it does very much seem like Feral develops against Nvidia's blob and feels Catalyst isn't worth the effort. Maybe Catalyst is very buggy, or maybe it just expects strict adherence to the OpenGL standard. Or maybe both.

On Pre-Orders And Other Nasty Buying Habits

Quoting: maodzedunI live in a poor country where the average monthly wage is 350 euro but I'm expected to pay the same price as people from countries where it is five to ten times higher? I think not.
I sympathize but we're not exactly talking about a basic need like food or medication. Nothing about games and other entertainment in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Hard to say if enabling these shady outlets by buying through them is any better from a moral standpoint than pirating the games. But I guess the developer does get a cut in most cases even if the cut is minimal.

Preach it, brother! Agreed on all points.
