You have a false idea about the Russian people and who the war is being waged against.
Your vague allusion to some non-specific hidden knowledge do not change the fact that as long as civilians are dying, any and all reasons and excuses ring hollow.

Quoting: chelobakaBusiness cannot be run on emotions and it shouldn't touch politics as well. Does cancelling of this DLC help one side against the other in the conflict? Highly unlikely. But it will surely hurt the developer.
Politics and emotions affect the buying decisions of their customer base. We're not machines, and we have our own (political) opinions and personal biases. Therefore you simply cannot separate business from politics and emotions. That's obvious from consumer focused marketing for basically any product ever.

Besides, businesses are run by human beings with their own opinions and ethical standards, as they should be. These people are free to make business decisions based on these standards, at least within the confines of relevant laws and regulations, balanced with the needs of stakeholders in case of a public company. And SCS is still a privately owned business, so no pressure to satisfy indifferent investors.

In this case, I'd argue the decision was driven by the market as much as it was influenced by politics. The Russian Euro Truck Sim community isn't likely to be totally insignificant, but SCS's customer base is likely to be overwhelmingly on one side of this particular issue. Positive messaging pertaining to Russia (even in a context like this) isn't likely to go down well right now, or in the near future.

Steam Racing Fest is now live until May 30th with a mini-trivia game

Quoting: LNXDirt 4 was my best driving experience ever using keyboard (no wheel). It's discounted as well. While Dirt Rally was my worst (wheel is mandatory here )
I can see how Dirt Rally would be horrible using a keyboard, but I have to say I got hundreds of hours of entertainment out of it with a cheap gamepad. Thumbsticks and triggers can't beat a wheel and pedals obviously, but they do the job. That said, it's a hard game to master no matter your control scheme.

Quoting: kit89DRAG is also on sale with 75% off and has native Linux support.
While I adored that one when I played it, since the sale they've not really announced much of anything and it's a little worrying right now.
Yeah I was wondering about this as well, but I bet it has something to do with the acquisition of the developer by iRacing [External Link].

Quoting: slaapliedjeSerious Sam 4... like the only Croteam game that isn't Linux Native (yet?). Was saddened when they stopped their awesome trend...
I might be in the minority, but I’m just happy it works at all.
I look at it like:
I want to run cars on pickle juice but most manufacturers only make gasoline cars.
Someone (Valve and others) made it so I can run my car on pickle juice.
I’m okay with that 🤷‍♂️
It's still sad when a manufacturer stops producing pickle juice powered cars.

it even has a "Super" key instead of the standard Windows logo you get on most laptops as a great little added touch
They should have used a rocket as the super key, not a text that says "super".
Noobs don't know what the super key is.
You could tell them, instead of being condescending.
Thaaaaaanks for that. I think you missed the point. The point of my comment was to say that not everyone knows to translate the "super key" they see in a Linux operating system to the one with a Windows logo.
Thanks for the sarcasm, but it was you who missed the point. Namely that if you spend a minute explaining what exactly "noobs" get wrong, some "noob" reading your reply might actually learn something, instead of feeling like they're not in the club. It rarely hurts to spell things out in a public discussion. But you just did, so I guess it's all good.

You're not wrong though. It was only recently that I had to explain to a friend that "super" meant the key where they'd usually have the Windows logo. Although their fancy new mechanical KB had some other symbol on the keycap instead, but that's beside the point.
What's worse, is there is the 'Meta' key label that some of us call it. When people know it as the 'Windows' key, because typically it just has the Windows Logo on it. Thanks Microsoft and keyboard manufacturers for that...
The thing is, while KDE refers to the Windows (or Logo) key with "Meta", in Xfce and I think Gnome it means left Alt.

To be fair, brands like HP and DELL have offered (business) laptops with Linux preinstalled for about a decade.

Quoting: Guest512GB "Screen"?
I have very little interest in the Deck beyond the effect it has on Linux-native gaming in the long run, but I'm pretty sure the 512GB model has a nicer screen than the cheaper ones. Anti-glare or something. So you should read that as "Screen for the 512GB model".
