Steam Machine release closing in with an appearance on the Vulkan conformant product list
25 May 2026 at 8:13 am UTC

Place your bets now - when do you think it will see a pricing and launch date announcement?
Tomorrow (TM)

Joking. Just wanted to mirror the separate steam reddits, specially the r/ steamframe one , which are full of fans saying it's today/tomorrow over and over again.

Could the 3 separate hardware launches actually have gotten people more hyped/anxious about the whole thing?

Valve make adjustments to Steam tags, and they settled the Vampire Survivor-like argument with Bullet Heaven

Most seem sensible, and I did not now Elves already existed since dwarves were added.

Desktop Companion - Games that only use part of your screen and keep you company while you do other things
Here my only reservation is to exclude from the definition Fullscreen games. I see many like Cast & Chill which has the tag already, or lofi-girl-likes study apps that use the whole screen state and are definitely used as desktop companions, like 2nd screen monitor

Humble Choice for May 2026 has Diablo IV, Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance and more

I hate when humble has non steam keys (or gog), but Diablo IV was too much to pass by. It was easy to get battlenet and game running, but OMG so many adds for expansions and cosmetics in both launcher and game.

Also I saw some PC Gamer articles putting Shin Megami Tensei above the persona series, and that for the bundle price that game makes it worth alone by itself. Which is interesting since I never had heard of it before.

Very interested in HoWII and very surprised to see Cubic Odyssey there already. The last one is one I fully enjoyed playing the demo two steam next fests ago: not quite No Man Sky, not quite Minecraft, but scratches the itch.

Nice to see that Graveyard Keeper managed to climb to the tops after the short "free to keep" discount on their announcement for the upcoming sequel

Love Vampire Crawlers, those cross-the-bridge & push-it-forward levels are devious.

Quoting: DrakkerI hope the Canadian pricing is an error... because 99$ USD is roughly 135$ in CAD right now... not 149$.
Probably not. Keeping round numbers in different currency is a thing :(

For EUR is even worse 99EUR is 116 USD

Book of Travels from Might and Delight goes offline in July but you'll still be able to play alone

At a 5 dollars pricetag is basically an extended demo experience and I'm fine with that. What they were building was a overambitious sure, this was not unsuspected. But maybe because of that I still think it is worth to the try even as it is, specially if it's on the backlog. It was already a good experience playing solo.

Audio and visual direction is topnotch. Not allowing mods (at the time it was being actively developed) to keep those standards might have been a shoot in the foot. Being always connected into one of varying small servers with a handful of players might have been another. Being able to see other travelers (PCs) as rare and speak to them/ band using only gestures and emotes was novel but it might not helped getting traction. And a small developer maintaining such infrastructure is sure to bleed $.

A pitty game world won't grow (without mods stepping in), but the experience was unique already even as it is. Worth a try just for that.

But true EA, like Kickstarter is always a risk. Unless you're wanting to help the devs or playtest, better always wait for 1.0 specially for cases such as this were the project dies / gets sunsets (even if gracefully) because of this.

Unrelated, will this be the same fate as Nightingale? (see some recurring patterns here)

Also very curious about the "Prove You're Human". After what the studio did with their debut 1000X Resist they've got me hyped for whatever project would follow.

For what is worth, Google even with all its graveyard full of prototypes and such, actually fully refunded the titles bought under their platform.

At least gog keys they "offered" are still owned by us, not "rented".

BOXROOM is a clever casual room builder to give your Steam games a shelf

Very nice, even though it is not linux native, it's a nice gimmick. Thanks for the heads-up Liam.

After playing a bit I already found I'll never be able to fit everything there:

Game sheft with Half-life/Portal on the left, Half-life 2 / Portal 2 on the middle and empty on the right...

😆

It would be perfect if it also fetched boardgames from bgg site collections.

Quoting: TangoBakerIf you pick up the game box and open it, you get an option to start the game from there. What I haven't found is how to delete the starter desk.
You can extend the wall to cover the table + window and "dig" more room in the other wall. Not optimal just tried and it works

The 8 slot has an X. It worked to delete both initial desk and a new added one.

EDIT: fixed comment has I found a workaround.
