I confess I like firearms and have accumulated more than a few of them over time. However, I can say with 100% certainty that loot boxes played no role in my appreciation for firearms.

Mozilla gave me the "kill switch" I wanted, so I am content. I like Firefox, and will continue to use it.
KDE Linux gets performance improvements, new default apps and goes all-in on Flatpak

Sounds good to me. If they can come up with an easy way to get Steam going, without using the Flatpak, maybe I could make the switch to KDE Linux. It would be nice to have a "purer" KDE+Plasma experience than what Bazzite offers; hopefully less drama too.
Firefox will get AI controls to turn it all off

I'm sorry, this just sounds a little silly to me. People, myself included, wanted the option to turn the AI features off. Alright, that's what they're doing. Now you insist it's off by default. Let's say they did that too, would you just turn around and say, "Well, there shouldn't be any AI to begin with!"

Quoting: hardpenguinHow about you disable them by default, Mozilla, and have people unleash AI at their own peril -_-They're providing the controls to turn it off, or turn it back on. What does it matter whether AI is already enabled by default?
This is dumb. So dumb.

Look, I don't know the stuff that goes on in the background of all the various distros. All I can say is that I hope Bazzite keeps on trucking. I very much like using Bazzite, it is very convenient for my desktop, and I do not want to have change distros.

Only games I played that were released this year were Super Robot Wars Y, Trails in the Sky FC remake, and The Outer Worlds 2. I'm not going to count Oblivion: Remastered, especially since I dropped it due to it running like a**.
Best game I played this year is the Trails in the Sky FC remake. It's not the best JRPG I've ever played, but it's got me set on the path of playing the Trails series. I've owned many of the Trails games for several years, but the number of titles kept me from getting into the series. Now, I'm willing to go for it.
The Outer Worlds 2 was the biggest disappointment of the year for me. It was an improvement from the first game, which is what I wanted, but as an actual RPG, I was left wanting.

I went ahead and bought the remaining Trails games I didn't have; Trails into Reverie, Trails through Daybreak and Trails through Daybreak II (Horizon isn't out yet/
It'll be some time before I actually get to those games, especially if I decide to wait for the remake of Trails in the Sky SC. If I go ahead and play the original (plus 3rd Chapter), then it'll still take me a while to get to them.

As I said in the previous thread: I like Firefox, will continue to use it, and I will take Mozilla at their word. If there's a "kill switch" that lets me turn off all AI features so I don't have to use it, then that's all I ask for in this regard.
It just keeps getting worse - Firefox to "evolve into a modern AI browser"

I don't care for AI, but I like Firefox, so I'm not changing browsers. They say AI will be optional, and I will take them at their word.
Some have recommended I use Vivaldi, but it is both Chromium-based and proprietary; so I prefer not to.

I got distracted playing Skyrim for a bit, but I returned to Trails in the Sky FC (the remake) so I can finish it. I'm on the Final Chapter, and I should finish it this weekend.
After that, I'll either finish SRW Y, or go back to Skyrim. I was going to go Morrowind->Oblivion Remastered->Skyrim, but I was setting up my character in each and ended up getting caught up exploring in Skyrim. So, I guess I'll be doing Skyrim first.
