AMD FSR Redstone arrives December 10 with a teaser

I personally like using FSR in Performance mode, particularly in games like Cyberpunk 2077, The Outer Worlds 2 and Oblivion: Remastered. It's particularly important in those latter two games, due to their use of UE5.

Valve reveal the new Steam Frame, Steam Controller and Steam Machine with SteamOS

For me, the Steam Controller is a definite buy. The Steam Machine depends on price; I don't really have a use for it since I already have a gaming PC.

Talking point - what have you been playing lately?

I spent most of the past two weeks playing The Outer Worlds 2, since I pre-ordered and had early access. Now that the hype train has long left the station, I'm returning to the games I've put on hold.

I intend to wrap up Super Robot Wars Y and Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter (the remake). After that, I'd like to give Elder Scrolls another shot. I played Skyrim briefly years ago, and I intend that revisit that. However, I'm going to start with Morrowind (using OpenMW), followed by Oblivion Remastered. I already had Oblivion in my library, but I heard the remastered version had several good QoL improvements.

Fedora Linux project agrees to allow AI-assisted contributions with a new policy

I'm not at a point where I'm ready to quit Bazzite and Aurora over this, but I'm not sure I like this. Between this and the earlier 32-bit fiasco, it saddens me that Fedora keeps doing stuff to attract controversy after I found what I thought would be a good home on Linux. Maybe I should consider migrating to KDE's new distro once it becomes stable.

I've never liked EA, so my opinion of them has already been at rock bottom.

Please make it stop - Google Chrome to be reimagined with AI

I do have Chrome installed on my devices, just in case a website doesn't work in Firefox w/uBO. In my experience, it's usually my state's government websites that work better in Chrome.

I don't like the pushing of constant AI features myself, but I plan to stay on Firefox. Firefox is FOSS, while Vivaldi is proprietary. I prefer to use FOSS whenever possible.

NVIDIA are investing $5 billion in Intel to develop new chips together

The current i5-12400 in my desktop will probably be my last Intel purchase (although I did buy it secondhand). I do not like NVIDIA, and I refuse to buy any of their products. If they're getting involved with Intel, then I'll move to buying AMD products in the future.
