I haven't used Xfce in several years, but I've always liked it. It is, indeed, very stable and lightweight. My favorite Xfce is Xubuntu, which has a really lovely looking Xfce.

Quoting: Leahi84I wish them luck with that. Europe is extremely reliant on the US for defense. Especially Germany.Quoting: LoudTechieCan't say I blame them. I'd be trying to move away from dependency on the US too, especially with that POS Trump assuming office next month. He's extremely hostile towards Europe, so If I were them I'd cut ties as quickly as possible.Quoting: ArehandoroThis is the only thing that comes to mind each time I read Sovereign:It's EU politico speak.
I think it's best translated to American with "America first!"
If European governments try to rid themselves of dependencies of goods and services from parties, whose reliability and stability they're too polite to question they call it a push for sovereignty.
France pleads for an EU army for this reason.
Germany maintains a pretty big military industry for it.
The EU is importing lots extra expensive gass from the USA for this reason.
Its why the EU sometimes tries to get an internal mining industry(until they discover that the reason they don't have one is, because they care about human rights, environmental protections, etc)
Most of the time it means moving away from USA provided goods and services, but not always.

I'm open to buying the B580 depending on specs and driver compatibility.
My Intel Arc A770 that I've been using for over a year generally works very well. But there is the occasional Steam game that won't launch, or just crashes. I had to play P3: Reload in its entirety on my Steam Deck because it would crash on my A770 after the opening video.
If the B580 allows to play P3R on my desktop, then I would consider it to be an improvement. Having 12GB of VRAM would be nice too, since my A770 is an 8GB model.

The best Linux distribution for gaming in 2025

I used Kubuntu for several years and would never speak ill of it. It was my introduction to KDE and Plasma, on top of being a solid distro.
Frankly, I would've continued using it had I not disagreed with Snaps. That said, I don't regret switching to Bazzite on my desktop. I was very interested in running an immutable distro, and Bazzite offers that along with Steam and other goodies baked into the OS image.
If Iwere going to recommend a Linux distro for someone who wants Linux on a gaming PC, I would go with Bazzite. It helps that it has images for desktop and handheld PCs.

I just started noticing the pop-up recently, but I've already been donating to KDE for over a year. All the donations they receive are well-deserved, in my opinion. I think KDE makes great software.
New Steam Controller 2 and VR controller designs got leaked

If this has back buttons like the Steam Deck, I'll buy two of them. I was hoping that a new Steam controller would basically copy the Deck's layout, and that's what this looks to be doing.
Steam Controller 2 is apparently a thing and being 'tooled for a mass production' plus a new VR controller

I'd like a new Steam Controller with the Deck's layout. I prefer controllers with a symmetrical stick layout, like the PlayStation controllers and the Deck.

I can't believe Half-Life 2 is 20 years old. I was in my freshman year of high school when it came out; I still have the CDs, back when you could still buy physical copies of PC games in the store.

Quoting: poiuzI get where you're coming from, maybe it's just me, but I like the layout of the Deck. As someone that prefers symmetrical sticks like on Dualshock controllers, the Deck's stick and button layout is pretty much perfect for me.Quoting: CyborgZetaWhy do these Steam Deck competitors never have trackpads? How do you expect me to navigate a desktop, and Windows at that, without at least one trackpad? The trackpads use (or if you don't use them waste) a lot of space. Because of the trackpads everything else is weirdly positioned on the Deck. And if your use case is really just desktop navigation (which should be rarely the case), the touch display is the better solution.
Even though some games play much better with the trackpad, I prefer a device without them.
