Quoting: nebadon2025what happens to all these projects that anchored themselves to it
I'm not optimistic about Playtron's feature but IMO devs can find more time to work on upstream projects while they (the devs) are under the Playtron umbrella and continue normally if/when Playtron goes under.

Quoting: sobkasgood replacement for Lutris
Bottles can manage Wine prefixes and install some dependencies. It can also install some launchers like Ubisoft connect and EA app iirc.
I use Heroic or plain old command line for managing Wine.

Quoting: missingnoyou're telling me this thing can't even run native titles anyway? Why the hell not?
My assumption is the OS supports running Linux binaries (otherwise how will it boot?) but the launcher UI exposes only Steam, Epic, GOG and Wine. You can run Linux GUI apps using Wine and startup options: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/6004070/execute-shell-commands-from-program-running-in-wine [External Link]

Steam integration is interesting. If they are running Steam games without Steam maybe I could use their software on my PC to shave off a few hundred MBs of RAM.
Also no Linux native is pathetic. Ironically Wine can run Linux native programs. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/6004070/execute-shell-commands-from-program-running-in-wine [External Link]

Quoting: Linux_RocksSequoia will probably be the last x86 macOS too
IMO Apple won't suddenly release a macOS version that doesn't have Rosetta 2. When dropping 32-bit support, Apple informed users and developers 1 year in advance. I expect the same process with x86_64->Arm. IMO macOS 16 will keep support and macOS 17 will drop it.

I occasionally visited this site on iPad 2 on 2023-24 with no issues but SYMBIAN OS?! Whatsapp dropped support for Symbian in that timeframe!
EDIT: I just checked, Whatsapp EOL was beginning of 2017

It did but older versions only, Office 365 is always the latest iirc.
