I have two friends who moved to linux within the past 6 months or so. For the nerdy techy guy (like me) I told him to go with Cachy. For the non-tech-savvy friend who just wants things to work and do work, I told him to go with Mint.
Months later and both are happy as they could be. Only had a minor issue with the Mint install, which was quickly fixed, then nothing else. They both say they wish they'd have dumped Windows earlier, but oh well. Happy linux users!

I've got a ton of stuff on my wishlist, some of which may or may not make it this year, but I think my most anticipated is full release of the turn based mode for Pillars of Eternity 1. So exciting!
of the ones listed, I have Ontos, Battlestar, Star Trek on my list. I don't like that the latter two have "rogue" in the descriptions but we shall see, sometimes those elements are minor.
I would have Pragmata on the list because it looks super interesting but I just have absolutely zero faith in capcom as a dev. They're one of the worst outfits I can even imagine. I got burned so hard on Dragons Dogma 2 which was a steamy shitpile that never ran (like at all without crashing) and I got JUST over the time limit for a refund so that was a wasted chunk of cash.

I'm on cachy, and thus far it's been the only rolling release distro that I haven't had any issues with. Like at all. None. I love it.
Fedora was great when I used it too, but I didn't like that nonsense from last year so I switched. I'm on gnome now (I had issues with kde) so I think this year I'll do a full system wipe and stay on cachy but with cosmic de. So excited to see that have a full release!

GOG has been languishing for years so maybe this’ll be the kick they need to make some forward progress. Like ummm I don’t know … releasing a Linux client. We can dream.

Mine would be a tie between Avowed and Tainted Grail. Both the exact same genre (1st person gigantic sprawling rpg) but polar opposites thematically. Both EXTREMELY good. I didn’t want either to end. Compare that to the Outer Worlds 2 which I’m near the end of and can’t wait for it to end so I can move on. LOL.
If I had to pick a tiebreaker, I think I’d go with Tainted Grail just because it really gave me that old school vibe and the theme was so unique.
