This is one of those games that on paper I love following, and reading about, and watching videos about, but just could never get into due to complexity. But I absolutely love that it exists and people play it!

I think it's safe to say I'm 100% burned out on anything Marvel for a good .... 10 yrs maybe? I'm adding this to my wishlist though, because I love a good beatemup and it actually looks pretty cool, but I just can't with anything Marvel right now.

As expected, for Steam it continues to basically be two distros: arch (and derivatives) or ubuntu (and derivatives). Fedora gets in a couple percentage points but nothing huge.

I'm not putting much time in recently on the Deck, but when I am, it's all been in Quartet. A fantastic modern retro jrpg that's perfect for the handheld gaming sessions.

I'm so sick and tired of that played out celebrity Snoop being in EVERYTHING. And then to take him and add AI generated game into the mix? LOLOLOL I mean it's just hilarious I didn't think there could be a lower effort project possible but here we are. Does this set the new bar for shovelware garbage?

Confirmed - Electronic Arts (EA) sold off to investors including Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund

imagine non-heterosexual relations being patched out of Dragon Age, Mass Effect,...
omg this is hilarious. Aren't there some EA games somewhere in their history where some journalist tries to deliver some incriminating evidence to a publisher? Just think of the patch coming from "totally not the saudis you guys seriously" ... no more mission! Or maybe the mission gets replaced with a hacksaw as a reward and a gigantic suitcase full of cash. Freedom cash.

Wow. Well everyone already hated EA, so now to be owned by the Kushners (disgusting) and the Saudi gov (disgusting) is just chefs kiss of plague ridden catastrophe to be avoided at all costs.

For me personally, I don't play a single game from the franchises listed, so it'll be an easy pass on everything they do! The last bastion WAS dragon age, but that entire franchise is dead and gone now after releasing a disney game for 6 yr olds and trying to trick people into buying it as a dragon age game. And they don't have anyone left from the old ME era, so we can all give up on that as well.

The rest, I just personally don't care about. I know tons of people do play those games though. It'll be interesting to see how the development goes into the future at least.

System76 COSMIC desktop Beta and Pop!_OS 24.04 LTS Beta now available

This is so exciting! I recently tried the cosmic de (alpha 7? alpha 8?) with cachy and while I loved the interface, it was unfortunately a little too buggy for daily driving. Which is totally understandable! It was an alpha after all. I very much look forward to full release when most of the bugs are fixed and I'll switch over for good. So wonderful to have some new air in the de space.

Deus Ex Remastered announced and arrives in February 2026

I'm in the "I have no love for nightdive" boat myself. I'm glad they're not doing this. I'm sad they're doing the SS2 one but oh well, I will just write it off. I backed their ss1 remake / remaster / whatever and it was a DISASTER. Took like a decade too long (how on earth did they keep the lights on during all that time?), and even when it was finally released was FULL of bugs / core engine issues. Stuff like not having the ability to remap mouse buttons (what?) and even worse: severe scaling issues with widescreen monitors. They hadn't implemented scaling properly so stuff was just getting stretched out super wide/fat instead of scaling properly. Major issue. After that disaster of a game release I just completely ignore anything they ever do now, and hope/wish they'd just shut down and let other more competent teams take their place.
