Anyone here getting rubbish performance whilst using an AMD cpu? I have an 8320 and am getting terrible performance at a point fairly early in the game. Lots of people, fire effects and outdoor stuff. I got 13 fps in one area. I have an nvidia 970 and 16 gigs of ram and have high texture quality, 1440x900 resolution and most everything else on normal.
I think this might be a common theme with Feral ports. Shadow Of Mordor also has poor performance on my system, also XCOM 2.

I'm looking forward to Sword Coast Legends, I really hope that the community make some great modules for it. That's what makes me play a bit of NWN2 every now and then.
I think XCOM2 is going to be a lot of fun, I'm really looking forward to that. Want it now, in fact.
I know that the Witcher 3 is on the GamingOnLinux's release schedule for November, but is that actually confirmed? I would have thought there'd be a bit more chatter about it if that's the case, but I've seen barely anything.

There's a game called The Mandate which got kickstarted last year that I'm really looking forward to. Space RTS/RPG stuff and it's coming out for linux too. Sometime this year.

The game runs pretty well for me, a nice 50+ fps, a vast improvement over wine. However I'm not seeing any mod/workshop integration, would like to know if there's going to be support for that anytime soon? I've got the black knight mod installed the hard way by copy/pasting files, but would like official support.

GamingOnLinux is a great resource. The news articles aren't speculative rubbish, are usually quite informative, and the community seems to have a really good attitude, setting itself apart from other sites out there for certain. As for Aspyr Media, I can't honestly say I know much about them other than their work porting over games like Borderlands 2 and Civ 5 among others. I have both and think they're brilliant work, really.
I've thought about grabbing the Pre-Sequel a bit, but the Australia Tax is a tad high. Ironic, given that 2K Aus are mostly responsible for it.

Quoting: coryrj19951and does any one know if this goes any better than strait wine, how good is the eon wrapper with AMD Graphics and CPU's?For me it goes much, much better than wine. There is one part of the game involving fire arrows which always used to slow to single digit fps for some reason, but goes nicely with the linux version. The performance is now quiet good for me, but I have an nvidia gpu. But as people will tell you here, YMMV.
The Witcher 2 Gains Yet Another Performance Beta

Why is it that others seem to have so much worse performance with Witcher 2 than I do? I have almost everything at max at a resolution of 1440x900, the only thing I can think of is setting opengl to be version 3.something instead of 2, and a script that sets all of my cpu cores to performance mode. Could any of that be it?
Completely smooth sailing in Vergen so far, btw. Very smooth.

I'm still waiting for Witcher 3 (pleased with the Witcher 2 port so far, I seem to get good performance out of it where others seem not to) and Shogun 2 Total War. Plus two Kickstarters, The Mandate and Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

Quoting: vultureok, comments on that site are just... lol. so many disappointed ?next? gen gamers.Save yourself, do what I've decided to do and never go to that site again. Don't read the comments, it's a lot like megagames, but with moderated comments. No less idiotic comments though. "It's not "next gen" if it's not on a bloody stinking console, it's just not good enough, linux? wtf is that?"
downright funny to see each and every one pointing out ?next? gen.

Well I do like the trailer, but considering it's just more shooty Borderlands, and there are already two games in the series, just what is the point?
